Problem is, players in a $10 tournament usually aren't good enough to value bet an ace here. They'd check because they're scared of the 4-straight.
Hold on, there is NO WAY this guy has a "2" in his hand. I checked preflop, which means i could have any two cards. The flop comes 7 high, and the guy leads into me, so I just call, to re-evaluate and see what happens on the turn. He bets rather small again, on an ace, so I raise a callable amount, to rep the ace. He checks the river on a low blank, so I bet about 1/4 the to represent an ace/ value bet. If he pushes over, I can fold with 11 BB still.
I'm not saying my play here was optimal or anything like that, just trying to walk through my thought process as the hand played out.
