First things first. Cut the "Mr." crap out. The only people that call me that are my kids at school (I'm a teacher). Plus, I am far too young and not yet wise enough as far as poker goes to deserve that title.
Lets get another thing straight, too. I do not play "power poker." If you want to talk to people that play that way, look up a man by the name of Riptyde and he'll tell you all about that. My game? It's a combination of nut-camping and smart betting when I have reads on people. ABC poker if you will. I guess you could call my move "power poker," but that's not really my game...
As far as what range of hands I'll reraise with? Well, if I think the guy is full of shit and can be pushed off of his hand, ANY TWO will do. I do this sometimes when I see a dipshit raising my blind every single time. There's a guy on the site I play at that raises on the button and in the CO *every* single time. I'll blast him out of the water with a reraise, show my junk, and then he'll back off and I get to see cheap cards. Or, the next time he raises me I know he's for real. Make sense?
Generally I like to reraise with AJ-AK, and 88-AA. KQ occasionally. The fact remains, though, is that it really doesn't matter what YOU have. It matters what the other guy has. Think about it. You raise without a strong hand and get reraised. This is going to scare the piss out of you. The question is asked, "Why would this guy reraise my raise?" Answer: He has a strong hand, duh, so I'll fold. See where I'm going?
Now, if the situation is reversed...It all depends on reads and whether or not I've seen this play pulled before, whether or not I've noticed the guy reraising too much, etc, what I'll push with. Usually if I'm on the button and I raise and get reraised...I'm not even going to call unless I have something really strong (all PP's and/or AK). I'm pushing AA and KK, and with a read, AK, JJ, and QQ (though not often). Other than that, I'm probably going to give the guy credit THIS TIME and fold. See why this works?
I dunno, this is all just situational stuff...Just things that I've come to incorporate into my game when the time is right. Not so much from hearing about it from other people, but just gaining experience with the thousands and thousands of hands I play. Does it work all the time? No. Do I get caught in a pickle occasionally? Sure I do. But it does work, and I'd say that something like this has to definitely be +EV.
Again, don't take what I say as gospel...I'm still trying to find my way in this game. Just something to think about.
