Any way happy blogging (man FTRs standards are getting low)

Wow, newer knew you could get so much off the net. I've had huge problems trying to get poker books to Denmark but this seems to do the trick. Thank you Trainer!

But how do you open the books, it opends up excel and then all kinds of wierd symbols occur, and I get some kind of kind of error message. This might be a noobie question, but meh .

Good luck TJ! I'm not sure what rooms you're playing, but I'm sure you know that shooting for 7-8ptbb is aiming high. Nothing wrong with that, but don't worry if you only hit 4 or 5. I hope the house sells quickly and poker BR grows even faster...

Wow, I have never heard of any $1300 bankroll player going semi-pro? BUT I wish you the very best of luck TJ. And for your sake I would highly recommend giving yourself atleast a 30 buy-in cushion per level at minimum for peace of mind!

I didn't know you had started playing 100NL, congrats.

Like zook said, shoot for 5BB/100. If you're relying on the money and you hit a couple K break-even stretch it will kill you mentally. You'll be thinking "damn, I have to run 15BB/100 now just to get back to 8BB/100". Plus, if you shoot for 5 and achieve 8 it will make you feel great (something to be said for low expectations).

    GL sir

Yep. I'm not going Semi-pro because of bankroll. I need to do something to earn some cash while at home. If not, just to earn groceries will help. I said 7-8PTBB/100 will make me home free. I don't think I can make it, but that will be the start of playing full time. I was at $100NL last week, but with taking a little roll out to pay a bill or two (so wrong against my own thinking) I have to drop down for a bit. When I was playing $100NL I only had $1500 so I only gave myself 3 buy ins, and ran even for my first 10K hands at that stake. I think I can beat it when my roll solidifies. Since my BR is more important now than when I had a job, I will need to follow better management. I will get in hands, make my rakeback and see where I can get.

    Thanks for reading.

Nice work Trainer. It's good to have a go. Back last year when I'd built up a massive $200 - $500 bankroll and had almost no expenses (<$50/wk) I had a go at living off my winnings at $10NL and $25NL. It's very difficult/stressful when you need to withdraw at a rate close to your winrate, but it was a fun experiment. It sounds like you're in a similar kind of "nothing to lose" situation. Best of luck with it.

That's cool you kicked the bankroll up into high gear. How did you lose the extra grand after the withdraw though? HHs?

Hey Trainer, where are you now in terms of BR and level? How is the Rakeback scenario, are you finding that you meet your requirements? Anyways GL and I do enjoy reading about Your endeavors in the Poker World because you add so much color to your posts, hahaha! Later Man

I'm jsut running bad, playing bad and under confident. I've spent so much time playing and reading that I havn't been posting. I will be back to work on Monday so back to the daily grind for a little bit until I solidify the roll.

Chin up TJ. Post some of your big hands on FTR. More importantly, get back to having fun at the tables.

Hey TJ. I think your hand and winrate goals are reasonable. Am I correct that poker will not be your sole source of income during this operation? If that's true, I would take shots at higher levels much earlier than you've outlined. Like I'd take shots at 100NL at $2500 and move up full-time at $3000. I'd take shots at 200NL at $5000 and move up full-time at $6000.

I understand you've been snakebit moving up a couple of times, but as someone who has been pretty aggressive with BR management (shots at 20 buy-ins, move up permanently at ~25, move down when I drop below 20) I'll tell you it can easily go the other way. I've gotten beat down in two moves up to 400NL, so I'm preparing a larger BR cushion for the next shot, but in general I think conservative BR strategies only stifles growth.

Trade hands and grinding for table selection + reads. The more I play, the more my eyes glaze over, the more robotic I become. Shorter sessions, less tables, more intense focus. With weak top pairs/strong midpairs in position cbet flop, check behind turn, and snapcall river bluffs (once you figure out who goes c/c, check, river lead when you show weakeness they become HUGE ATMs.)
