Post "REstart" - Life And Poker Progress Blog

    Hello everyone

I'm going to post in this thread my progress in poker and life . I will have goals and targets for both .

    Background

Found poker in 2007 when friend of mine played Holdem game on his cellphone .
After that I played in few home games and lost some money .
In 2008 I found FTP and played in their daily 100$ freeroll. Was ITM couple of times but lost all by playing 10NL ( this was the smallest cash game in that time )
In 2008 I deposited 35$ in PS and lost all by playing 3.4$ SNG's and 5.40$ HU .
    Since this deposit I deposited around 10 times , always in small amounts ( 50$,100$, 200$) .
Always lost my bankroll by tilting it all in HUPLO .
Always tried to improve my game but never worked on the mental side of the game .
Also when working on my game I learned too much concepts and never used them in the right way .
Always try new game and new style and never concentrated on one .

    NEXT

I'm going to learn again the basics of the game , include starting hands , position , pot odds etc.
My game will be NLHE-Cash starting w/FR and maybe will switch to 6Max latter on .
I'll try to include some pictures and photos in my posts .

    To do-June

[ ] Clean my grinding station
    [ ] Exercise 3 times a week
[ ] Eat more healthy food
    [ ] Go to dentist
    [ ] Meditate 7 minutes everyday

    [ ] Learn seat selection
[ ] Learn pot odd and implied pot odds
    [ ] 5000 hands

    1nd, GL GL etc

    EDIT:

I see you mentioned learning pot odds and implied odds, have you read the threads in the BC pertaining to these? Spoonitnow had put together a Mathematics thread that you may find very useful.

    12+ tables .

I don't plan to play a lot this month , I'm more about RElearning the game from the basics now.

    hows the meditation going?

i would consider that if you feel the need to learn pot/implied odds then you likely need to learn ranges.. which leads me to believe that playing 12+ tables is going to be basically burning money for you. You're obviously having difficulty with the move up from your other thread in the BC. prove yourself a winner playing 2-4 tables before you burn cash playing 12.

I'm actually a beginner in this one . I'm just seating on the floor , listen to relaxing music and concentrating on breathing . I'm hope that by the end of this year I will be able to do the Vipassana meditation for ten days .

I agree with you that when learning the game its better to play 2-4 tables .
In the past I used to play 24 tables at 2NL and I was a winning player . For now I'm plating 12 tables of 2NL and I play only the regular speed tables . I'm actuaaly very comfortable w/this number of tables when learning very basic concepts like pot odds and table selection .
When I'll start to concentrate more on hand reading and playing post flop, I'll drop down to 4 .

    Thank for replying guys

sounds decent enough, i will say that the most important concept for you is ranges not pot odds.

    AND

pot odds are often dependant on equity vs a range, and you're going to have difficultly assigning ranges while playing that many tables.

post flop is going to make or break you at all levels beyond 2NL. and since you clearly pwn 2nl you need to get into studying post flop play and reading hands.

FWIW when I played full ring NLHE I never played more than 9 tables. Especially if you're learning the game, reduce your number of tables.

How is it that you plan to play 5000 as a goal when you're 12-tabling? thats like 8 hours or something

imo i think your progress is going to reflect your approach to learning and not your approach to the game. just make sure to play hands, think about them, post them, discuss, etc

This is not goals , its just as I named it , TO DO THINGS .

This month I concentrate on more work away from the tables , but I still want to grind couple of bucks on the micros .
