Ideally I'll get a handle on CAP, 16 table it and get SNE by Septemeber (sick!) then grind the last few months of the year at 100bb to stack up some earnings in the 'money won at the tables' area of my profit.

For this year I am not going to track earnings at the tables (I will explain more on this later about my recently improved worth ethic via a new philosophy).
Sounds like you're doing a lot of soul searching. I know it's tough to balance table profits versus rake profits versus moving up stakes versus maximizing hourly and a million other thing, especially if you don't have a day job and poker is your livelihood, but FWIW, you seem too good to me to be worrying with CAP games. No explicit disrespect to players who play CAP versus 100bb NLHE but you can make so much more money at the table and with rakeback as a successful 100bb NLHE player. Playing 1/2 CAP when you could play NLHE 100bb stacks @ 1/2 and higher just seems like a really bad idea. If you're looking to expand yourself, I think you should look to 100bb 6max whenever you can find good games, not CAP.

I think an argument could have been made in the old style games to play 50bb max because they had so many fish compared to 100bb max, but now NLHE has fish again. So, if you were winning before, you should be winning even more now. Right? Unless I'm missing something like you really enjoy CAP or found a way to make a lot more money, why wouldn't you stick with what you've been doing? Especially in your case where you played 50bb min over 20bb min back in the day and chose 100bb max over 50bb max just recently.
