Default Operation Rebuild My Roll (RMR)

First off, hello to everyone. I've been lurking on this site since last October when the poker bug first hit me. A little history to start everyone off.

I was drunk at a party with a friend sometime in October, someone ther was playing online S'nGs towards the end of the night. Of course I had to see what all the fuss was about, as there were people standing around cheering him on. Before the night was over I was giving him money to let me play on his sn. I was getting absolutely worked over, not knowing the first thing about what I was doing. He sat me down in a HU game for $10, played the first few hands. He crushed the other guy. I tried to follow, then implement everything he was doing. Didn't work. Ended up out about $50, then went home wondering how I could get good at poker.

A few weeks pass, and I've seen myself thru about $200 deposited on Pokerstars, Bodog, and Poker dot com . I start reading everything I could to get better, and finally start making a wee little bit of dough.
Come January I have about $800 online, and feel that I'm doing fairly well. Well the guys who introduced me to online poker brought me to a charity event, where I made about 500. I decide that I'd much rather play live, as it seems to be much easier.

Since May I've been playing solely at those charity events, making about $600 a week. I would usually just spend all the money I made the next week going out, shopping, on my car, the usual. Well two weeks ago I lost my license, and had to pay about $4000 in tickets. Suffice to say there went my BR. Along with having no roll I cannot get to the games anymore (they are all about an hour away from where I live).

So I have decided to come back to where it all started, online poker. I have about $300 to start over with, along with lots of free time. I get paid to play soccer, so I don't work. I've got $30 on Stars, and need to get more on there (if anyone is willing to transfer me money for paypal money I'll pay for the help. Triptanes can vouch for me I suppose). But until I do I'll be playing $2NL, then moving up levels at 20 buy-ins. I'll probably take shots 2-3 BI shots when I've got 15 BI for the next level.

My goals are to play 100K hands this month, be at $100 NL by the end of the month, to break down my game so that I can fully understand my own game (if I completely understand my own game I should be able to understand the play of others. right?)

I'll be posting a few hands after every session, and stats as soon as I get PT. I'd appreciate any help anyone can give me. Thanks FTR!

I've decided that since I'm starting at the bottom again that I'm going to learn Omaha as well.

Some things I want to do right away is plug any of the big leaks I have. Need to find those immediately. The bggest leak I have right now is probably my starting hands. I used to only come out betting the top three tiers. But after finding live success I opened up my starting hands. Hands like KJo, QJo, Q9, K10, J8, 10-7s have all found there way back into my range. I know that these are all hands that will cost me money when played (in position, even more so OOP), especially at the micro limits where I will not be able to count on thinking players to give me credit when I bluff. So for the next few days I will focus on tightening up my starters.

I wish you the best, but I think you might be setting the bar a little too high. Playing 100k hands in a month is impossible unless you're multitabling. Even then, it will take about 57 hours a week 8 tabling to pull it off.

I actually plan to 5 table about 10 hours a day. So, that's 70 x 5 = 350 which isn't too far from 8 x 57 = 435. Then there's the added bonus of better concentration across fewer tables. I don't think it's too lofty. Like I said, I don't have to work, and really want to be back at the $1/2 game. While I want to get there quickly I want to be sure that I don't have a huge leak in my play, so working up works great for my game and for my roll right now.

5-tabling 10 hours a day, every day, will net you a little over 80k hands. Not to mention, putting in 70 hours a week is insane. Why not strive for something more manageable like 50k hands? I would hate to see you get burned out.

If you have a steady job, and you know how to play, can't you restart at $25nl at least? Is it just a matter of depositing?

Also, who do you play for?

I would love to be able to start higher. Right now the only money I have that I'm not depending on until next paycheck is on paypal, and until I get that out, then put it onto stars I've only got $30. Like I said though, if anyone is willing to x-fer me monies on Stars for paypal I'd be more than willing to pay extra. I play for a freestyle team sponsored by Nike and Red Bull (Red Bull Wingers).

I'm willing to play this much because I basically played the same amount of hours when I first started out. It's been awhile since I've played online obviously, but it's all really to try it out until I have a more liquid BR. If it goes well I won't need to deposit anymore, and if it's ok then I'll just add money to play 25NL or 50NL.

    Drinking your milkshake.
Unless yr a complete animal (Hi Renton!) It's tough to put in >40 hour weeks regularly. Believe me, I've tried. I'd set a goal that is a little more easy to attain.

    Good luck dude.

Just got done watching Bigspenda's microstakes vids 1 &2. Seems like my current play is inline with what he was doing. Like I had thought I will have to take some of the bluffs/semi-bluffs out of my game for the time being. I'm putting off playing again until Thursday. I played a $10 tourney last night at my friends. Went ok, took 3/18 for $30. Lol, doubled my current roll.

Definitely have decided to wait until I can get some more money onto stars to start having a go again.

Well, I now have $250 on Stars. That means no grinding at the ultra microstakes! Thanks Dwarfman! Next stop 5K hands played.

So I signed on to play today, but only stayed ten minutes. I realized I was on tilt a bit. Not because of poker, but becasue of the soul crushing defeat of Liverpool. I think it'd be best to watch games at the end of the night, so as not become sad in case of a loss. Hopefully the weekend will bring me some joy, as the past day has been nothing but hearbreak. Roma lost 1-0 to ManPu, making this week a soccer busst so far.

Good news is I'm up $12. Yea?

Hey rebuild. What would you say is a good strategy to build a decent roll from very little (I've limited myself to $10 :> to keep it safe)?

Save another $190 and read my op thread (link below). Clear the first deposit bonuses and signup bonuses on party and empire, etc.

Depends if you are US based or not too. If not, and you want to stick to only $10, then deposit at Pacific and cash one of the seven first depositer freerolls you become eligible for, or the weekly deposit freeroll. Overlay on these is good.
