Operation-Once A Week Is Plenty
A while back I agreed to wait a week to check my BR. Overall I was about even but I didn't really tilt the entire week. Afterwards I went back to looking at the BR before a session, after a session and sometimes during a session. What a dumbass. Now I'm going to go back to once a week. I'll only look at my BR on Sunday as I don't usually play on Sundays. I need to figure out how to review a session using HEM without seeing the $$ results.
The last time I looked at the BR it was about $833. That was Monday. I'm sure it's less than that now as I've lost a full BI 3 times with a set of Ks but I won't look til Sunday.
I've almost finished "No Limit Holdem T&P" but I haven't really thought about it in great detail yet. This is the first time I've read a poker book as the material on FTR has been enough to help me learn a great deal.
I'm still at 25NL which is an accomplishment in itself.
What I'm gong to do to get better:
-Watch a ton of vids on GS, over and over
-Read T&P again
-Review sessions
-Weekly review on Sundays
-work on them ranges. I think watching vids will help this. I watched one of M2M's vids and he's good about discussing villian's ranges while playing
-Update this Op on Sundays

I've also re-subscribed to GS as previously I watched all 6-max vids but I need to watch some FR vids. Plus my hero, M2M is now there providing vids and I know he's a FR God but a bit of a luckbox. I do have to remind myself that "oots" means "outs"
I'm playing mostly 20-50bb games and 50-100bb games. I had been playing 6 tables but recently I added 2 or 3 more. This does seem to keep me from playing in hands I don't need to be playing out of boredom but it seems like I fold for 30 minutes and then get a playable hand on 6 out of 8 tables. I'm playing at about 11/8/2 which is a big nit. After vacation I wasn't really motivated to play and I don't know why. Or at least I didn't know then. Now I know that I didn't want to play because I was finally at 25NL and wanted to stay there a while. If I don't play, I can't lose. So when I did play I was looking at the BR alot and tilting when I would lose any hand. That's the main reason for this OP.
Non Poker Related:
Vacation was excellent. Ate alot and drank alot and fished a little. Saw a little oil in the water in Panama City Beach as we were leaving.
Started lifting weights again about 2 month ago. It's been about 15 years since I lifted. I lifted regurlarly during college (all 7.5 years) and for the first few years afterwards. That marriage thing will do it. Anyway, I'm doing lots of reps as opposed heavy weight. I have plenty of bulk but I need some definition as I'm 6'3" and 275 lbs. I'm essentially doing the same workout I did back then but with less weight. When I entered college I weighed 168. After my first year I weighed 220 and after the second year I weighed 240. All from lifting. The additional 35 lbs is NOT from lifting unless you count a fork and a beer.
I'm trying to get better at golf but I'm not playing golf. I seem to enjoy going to the driving range more than actually playing golf. So I'm practicing more than I'm playing. Use this approach to poker?
