on many days like this where I've been busy doing other things and feel a bit drained (especially after being really sick for a couple months in the spring) I would typically avoid the tables. however, i m pretty sure just playing a few tables of nl100 and some donkaments is very +ev and I'd like to keep my eye on the prize (plugging away at those longterm goals) so here we go.
this is really interesting. Until recently I have playing these sessions for exactly your reasons, this has cost me a bunch of money. This possibly applies less to you as you are playing at stakes where your edge is likely significant enough that your b/c-game is still profitable? anyway, fwiwI am no longer playing my main games when i'm tired/drunk/whatever as there seem to be two costs that could be worth your consideration?

1 - immediate cost, for me these sessions are pretty much $ breakeven at best over a big sample
2 - delayed cost, these sessions often result in me being tired the next day, or second guessing my poker decision-making, or being on some sort of subtle tilt next session induced by losing 5 buyins through bad play during the tired session.

a suggestion = monitor how these sessions run financially, and also how you feel after them -> if they affect your sleep, mindset, etc then this is worth being aware of.
another suggestion = during these sessions do one or all of: play less tables, play nittier ABC than normal, don't run big bluff or hero lines, use a stop-loss, play lower stakes.
another suggestion = consider whether this time could be better spent studying/watching vids/reviewing hand histories/talking poker on skype if this is part of your normal grinder routine
