Another good session this weekend at 2nl. I two tabled again which is going very well...I think my concentration actually is improved because the action is a touch faster.
Anyway, I was up another buy-in (150 big blinds). This was after only about 30 hands giving me a payback for the sesison of about 450BB/100? (I think I get this whole BB/100 hands thing). Gotta love short term positive variance.
I was in late position with TT. There was a limper in early position, a raise from mid position and I called the raise followed by calls. The pot had 4 players in total. I hit my set and it was checked to me and I bet out. If everyone folded thats fine, I wasnt getting going to make anything anyway. It went around to the player just ahead of me and he shoved. My set was the highest possible and there was no flushdraw or open ended draw available that I could remember.
My hand held up and the player had a gutshot....I don't know....I cant push on a 4 outer gutshot, but I'm happy he did.
I also kept up with the aggression which I noticed is key at these stakes. I have to keep raising PF and I limit the amount of hands I limp with and I only call raises with what I consider quality hands. I am happy that I have made my money the last few sessions with good hole cards. Not one pot has been won by holding 64o and hitting two pair....or something similar.
I will be happy to hit my $50 goal. After that I will make it $100 at which point I will try and move to 5nl. I played there before underrolled and was doing ok until I hit a brutal streak and properly moved down to 2nl. I will keep my same pricinples in 5nl.....except I will have to see about cbetting. I cbet a lot in 2nl vs tight players and hope I can in 5nl. Its such an easy way to take it down, I assume it wont be much different in 5nl....seems so long ago.
