Wow, what a session last night. I decided to 2 table and it went very well. It took a few extra hands to pick up on the players but I had no problem following. I will do this a while and then go to 3.
I only played about 100 hands last night at 2nl. After the 100 hands I was up a buy-in (150 big blinds). I got some decent cards but never huge hands. When I did get big hands I didn't get paid off too well.
I found that aggression was key.
Both tables were full of limpers. In the past if there were 3 limpers ahead and I was in LP with AJs, I would limp behind because I didn't like the strength of my hand. Now, I raise, raise and raise....usually one player comes along for the ride and when the flop doesn't hit me, I cbet and more often then not I take it down for a nice easy small pot.
It's nice to see when I can apply principles found on this site...before I was too passive, much to passive. When you play aggressive, something happens, its tough to explain why but things just go better I think.
For the first time I can say that the other players were scared shitless of me which probably accounts for my cbet success. It also makes it easier to read them b/c if they hanf around, you know they hit some of the flop.
The player behind me was notorious for limping. I would raise the pot (with good cards) and he would always call. I would cbet and he would fold. After a few times, when I was in the B blind and he was in the small blind, he would just fold to me knowing that I wouldn't let him just go for free. It was great.
I only have to do this about 60 more times and I will be ready for 5nl.......
