This is by far the only reason I am a winning player. But, yeah, playing somewhat shitty lately mixed in with some coolers imo. Getting coached right now by sootedpower at DeucesCracked. One session and some talks on skype/email and he seems to be pretty solid. I'm working a lot on double barrelling with some pretty decent results. My red line looks a lot better than the condescending 45 degree angle.

My goal this winter break was to easily make $1k but blah that's not going to happen. I'm more focused on playing better.

so bam right off the bat I'm too scared to continue to play there and my hopes of making $1k within the next ~week are kind of shattered. Had a nice day at 50NL but I can't play there much longer.

I want to move up and this break is like the ONLY opportunity to actually pad my bankroll because I am living at home for the next week and a few days. I can technically still play there for sure but I mean I have a big enough roll to take shots, but I'm just not comfortable. I was hoping the "fuck it" mindset would get me back into the swings of 100NL.

    Ok, makes sense.

Ridiculously small sample, and I've never played this high, but I need to two table so I have more time to think about what's going. You're probably in a different boat. GL!!

Just had a 2hr session with tcblade's protege and learned a lot about cbetting. Basically having equity in some way is crucial. Now I understand the c/f a lot of flops having a small PP with all overs on the board.

He also told me some interesting minraising spots that I have to think more about as I am way too tired.

Played a 77 hand session. I had one failed 3bet, one failed 4bet and then another 50bb sized 3bet pot I lost with TT < QQ. Shitty session right?

    Negative 1.

Aka all the recent posts by me were a joke. I tend to play quick sessions, especially if I gain a lot of profit because I am scurred moniez. I just feel like it's more to make sure I have that money in case I need to withdraw and it allows me to go "whew" when I end up messing up later that day since I know I made some earlier.

But to answer your question, anywhere from 4-6, 6 usually and maybe like 20% of the time playing 8 or 9.

But it is true that I don't play nearly as much as most people, especially the Canadian ballllllas who replied to my session.

Ok so the past couple of days I have strictly played 100NL FR. My observation so far is that there are tons of fish. Way higher ratio than a 6max game which behooved me. I had to say behoove because I said it aloud today for the first time. Anyways, the regs that do play remind me of 25NL 6max players so far. That said I am down probably $135 so far. It sucks because I lost a lot at 100NL 6max leaving me down around $450 total in the past couple of days. The reason I am doing so poorly is getting bad beated and coolered imo. I showed the hands in my tilt thread. It's just unreal TO ME the luck I am having at 100NL. Really sucks to go through this while moving up. I'll probably continute to play 100NL FR for a little until I lose maybe 5 at most buyins. But that all could change. I hope to play some 6max 50NL too.

I hate talking about bad beats and stuff but this is the recent news for me. Really sucks because this winter break was my either break out or fall back for another 5 months attempt as I was living at home and didn't have to pay for much. Looks like 5 more months of 50NL. Sweet.

100NL FR is a fucking joke. They are so fucking bad. I'm running like shit down $700 the past 2 days but they cannot be any worse than 2NL players.

oh my bad...what's your SN there? I talk in the chat only if it's people I know or if I am tilted.

I know it's a lot better than 2NL but I am more than tilted right now. I also wasn't trying to downgrade any FTRers at 100NL which I noticed may have came off that way. I meant that the regs and fish I play are making seriously HUGE mistakes. I am trying to refrain myself from posting more of these HH in my tilted thread but it's insane what they'll do. I've had two guys flat my 4bets with me having AA 100bb deep and shipping the flop with their flopped set on YXX boards with Y=broadway and XX=low cards. Another just flatted a 4bet after chatting "lol" yet I was bluffing ld0 and he took it away on the turn with another "lol". I really think he thought I was a fish and making a small 4bet was the fishiest thing he has ever seen or something. Then I have wild "regs" calling my steals with pretty marginal holdings and hitting big time. And it's like whatever I do, someone will have a semi-tight range and then I'll hit a decent hand too so it's like well fuck and then he'll end up pwning me with a slightly better two pair and so forth. Then I flop two pair and bet flop and bet/fold bank turns because they have sets always and he obv. shows and types something in the chat about how he's gotten "2 sets in a row!!!!!". These are the regs wtf. And the hand I posted in the FR thread: I was an unknown and he calls his stack with AJ? Wtf. I'd never call there, I mean I think the only hand that I rep that he beats is a FD and that RARELY should happen too. His hand is a bluff catcher for sure but it's really weak in that spot.

I'm going back to 6max for the most part or just taking a long break. Poker is fucking with my mind. It's my easiest/least time committment way of making mandatory money for myself, but at the same time I am seeing how unhealthy it is, especially without any real life friends who play nor know I play. I am finding myself with the worst attitude lately towards my friends and family and this weekend was supposed to be a great way to end the winter break and it turned out like shit. This, going along with non-poker bullshit, is really irritating me. Blah, trying to think of a way to say "fuck you" to everything but nothing is coming to mind. I think I might have realized to stop getting into my habits of letting all this shit take over my mindset and persevere through it all. It's like my old, usual ways of fixing my problems are actually making things a lot worse in the long run and are only temporary solutions to something that will inevitably happen again.

Ok so the slowrolling douche from my Tilt thread accepted any challenge I can come up with against him. I shipped him a 2+2 inbox cussing him out and venting to him. Do I let this slide or what? I have complete confidence I can beat/crush him in 6max/HU and most likely FR at any stakes he chooses.

Without a doubt I'd challenge him to mid stakes HU match and then get ISF to play on your id instead.

play him while being sweated by someone real good - at stakes you can afford

edit - i just saw that it's that roosk guy - he used to be terri-bad but has got a lot better. I have no real idea how good you are so can't comment on whether going to war is a good idea. From the small sample size i have on you, it seems you haven't quite adjusted to FR after playing 6-max. I doubt roosk plays much/any HU - and you've played a bit I think? so that's likely the best arena to play in. Although, chances are if he's a 2+2 reg then you'll end up playing him and some IM buddy of his

looking forward to the trip report

School started Monday. I haven't gone yet mainly because of my/the "First Day of Classes Never Involve Roll" rule. Seems they always pass out the syllabus and that's mainly it. I probably just jinxed myself. I cannot go to sleep at night. I am on the 5am sleep/2pm wake up schedule. That NEEDS to change.

Haha yeah I was on this too during winter break but eventually I just stayed up until 8 pm or so and got back on a normal schedule. Skipping classes for me is -EV because it makes me feel bad about myself, especially at the beginning of a semester when I'm not sure which classes I can skip and which classes are actually worth it to attend.

I hope you play LaRoosk and own him. I haven't gotten into a big pot with him yet but something about the way he plays just tilts me. I think that some of the hands he shows up with make me think he's a level one thinker but he actually does alright at 100NL. Idk maybe he's just the best level one thinker ever.

Btw, sorry about needling you in your tilt thread with my winning hand. I've been hitting way the good side of variance since I moved up and you seem to have hit the bad.

    flomo - amen brotha!

I played a ton of hands (like 150 at most) at 10NL today because I was bored and had no HEM and it's crazy how weak-tight everyone is. I think I could play around 40/30 and make a profitizzle.

It's just like Trillian and runs both AIM and MSN + others at the same time.

I feel like I should think of something to post here since I can't just chat about computer programs. Hmm...I'm taking a little less hours at school this semester than last = more playing time? Doubtful. Hmm...been thinking a lot about Vegas and am really hoping I can meet up with some drunken FTRers sometime this summer (I don't drink ftw/ftl however you want to see it). CR keeps messing up same with Stoxpoker with their trulyfreepokertraining thingy so that's kind of a downer but it should be fixed semi-soon. Speaking of training, the group sweats in the BC looks like it might be a decent idea. Yeah that's all I can really think of.

I've been trying to make 10NL and 25NL videos recently and post them in my blog and show how aggro. you can be at those stakes but camtasia keeps messing up. I have a 50NL video that I am like 50/50 on. Really no true playing lately, just not really in the mood. Made probably $100 making those videos/fucking around at lower stakes.

That needs to stop somewhat though. My goal will be 20k hands at 400NL this year or bust. OR BUSTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!

I hate you all. This video isn't that great, it was like my 2nd ever. I think smaller stakes plus me going aggro. would benefit more people. I haven't watched most of it either so I forget if I did anything stupid besides play wise.

    http://www.megaupload.com/?d=WGJXYCKC

On another note, I am doing quite well at 50NL this month. I have almost reached my highest BR ever in which should allow me to play very comfortably at 100NL all next month. By writing this, expect a huge downswing.

I broke a girl's jaw today at dodgeball.

I'm watching your vid right now.

    Not too many comments.

I'm kind of meh with 3betting A3dd OOP in blinds, since you're gonna get dominated often. I guess it's ok if someone has been ramming on your button lots.

You really need to fold that 46o to the min 3bet. The guy only has 30bb stack, so you dont even have crazy implied odds if you do flop some miracle. You have really bad reverse implied odds vs a shortstack if you spike any kind of pair on a low board.

About halfway through atm, I'll try to catch you in Aim to chat about some specific stuff, but a general point. You dont seem to be identifying when/how people are playing back at you.

In the 2nd part, you're running 50/50 on the top left table and a TAG is 3-betting you about 80% and you cant work it out. Its because you're running 50/50 and folding to all his 3-bets! Only time you've played back is with AKo (and he folded). You say you cant work out why he's 3-betting you when you're raising UTG, but would you give a 50/50's UTG range much respect?

Likewise bottom left table. Doctor Fish is calling you a heap PF and donking postflop and you continually fold to his donk bets. I think you're missing a little HEM thing here, because every time he donks you check his postflop aggression popup stats and decide he's not that aggressive (definate leak that you havent realised he's donking you almost 100% just by paying attention), but if you instead look at the popup stats for one of the cbet HUD stats, it gives you his stats for v's PFR and instead of seeing his postflop bet% you'd be able to see his postflop donk v's PFR % which may have alerted you to what was going on.

Good replies from all. Thanks a lot!

Ben - I definitely need to work on my thinking in that no one EVER puts me on a range/tries to exploit me other than raising cbets on dry boards shit.

Grif - I'm horrible at the min3bet crap because in my eyes we have direct odds to call, no?

Unfortunately, I am running like shit the past two days but only played verrrry few hands. I think I have learned a lot this month. And not just things that are making me play better, just random crap involving me and playing poker. That said, I do think I have learned a lot though which is helping my ability. I keep having dreams and shit about going to vegas this year and playing in one tourney. I figure this could be my "long term" goal this year. If I can't get enough money to actually buy into an event, I may just go because I need to fucking travel and I have a few friends that will be playing in a few events so maybe I can crash with them for a week or whatever.

My short term goal is to play at 50NL until Feb. 14. Valentines Day means the end of my 50NLness and I should have a solid bankroll to not just take shots at 100NL, but stay there, regardless of withdrawing some money. It's definitely come to my attention that I cannot put in a lot of hands most days because of other crap which is unfortunate for poker but good in away because it will mean I'll be active and have a social life. Also, next fall I am thinking about going back to living with my parents until my spring semester. This would do wonders for my BR and playability and all that so hopefully I can really take charge then but I don't want to think too much about the future and just be like "fuck it, I'll just wait until Fall when I know for SURE I'll have a sweeeeet BR". If I have that attitude, I'll know I continue to stay at annoying stakes.

mehhh reverse implied.. especially with nonsene hands like 46o. At least have it soooted so you can shove and have some fold equity on a decent number of flops. Though I think these should all be folds really, especially to a shortish stack.

Yeah I guess I look at equity and am like well I still have odds but I guess the equity is for all 5 cards on the board which won't happen often.

I've been playing some today with some ok results. I was down a little but got it back up. I feel REALLY bad though because I accidently slowrolled some dude for his stack...I waited until 4 seconds left BUT I didn't notice the board had paired when I had a set (so full house) and the only hand I was worried about was a straight (which he had). I was sooooo close to mucking haha. This was fun:

    Grabbed by Holdem Manager
    NL Holdem $0.50(BB) Full Tilt
    SB ($74.75)
    BB ($14.90)
    UTG ($9.25)
    UTG+1 ($51.70)
    CO ($54.90)
    Hero ($55.35)

    Dealt to Hero 97

fold, fold, CO raises to $1.75, Hero raises to $6, fold, fold, CO calls $4.25,

    FLOP ($12.75) 68T

check, Hero bets $4, CO raises to $8, Hero raises to $12, CO raises to $24, Hero raises to $49.25, CO calls $24.90,

    TURN ($110) 68TK

    RIVER ($110) 68TK5

    CO shows TT
    (Flop 34.7%, Turn 22.7%)

    Hero shows 97
    (Flop 65.3%, Turn 77.3%)

    Hero wins $107

Thanks Illfavor! But I think you jinxed me my man.

Anyways, running hot and then bad right now. I managed to get my BR to its peak and then drop like 4 buyins. I'm also getting hit in the head with variance and I AM MISCLICKING/READING THE BOARDS WRONG NONSTOP. I will not rant. In fact, I am down like $200 today but am not really mad. I don't think I played too terribly bad except for a few hands which were misclicks or me being a dumbass at reading the boards so I feel like I can easily crush 50NL. It sucks because in the day all the tables are like 23% vpip while at night you get some huuuuuge donks.

I'm talking to Ben (bjsaust) right now about a prop bet for Feb. I am going to have to limit my bets to only him as I want to reallllly focus on moving up and not worrying about silly bets.

EDIT: Ok here are the rules:

Prop bet between kmind (Casey) and bjsaust (Ben):
    1. If either person doesnt play at least 12k hands in Feb they owe $100. If both play 12k or more they owe nothing.
    2. During any week (Sun - Sat) within Feb
    a) If Ben doesnt do weights four times and cardio three times he owes Casey $50 for that week
    b) If Casey drinks soda (1 free drink for month) or eats chips, and doesnt do 50 pushups and 50 situps on 3 days he owes Ben $50 for that week
    3. At the end of the month, whoever has won the most (not counting rakeback/bonus or tournaments) is owed $50 from the other person.
