February Blog of the Month - NOMINATIONS

A while back I attempted to run a Blog of the Month contest but it didn't really work because 1) there wasn't a lot of interest, 2) we had less people posting in this forum, and 3) I was lazy. I thought we'd try it again with a few changes.

First off there will be prizes! I'll probably change the prizes every month and/or experiment with the ones you guys like best. February's Blog of the Month author will receive FTR gear of their choice, a fabulous Full Tilt Poker shirt, and a custom forum title.

Secondly, I want you guys to be involved. I'm gonna ask you guys to please nominate your favorite FTR operation in this thread. Do this by specifying the author and also listing the name of the operation. For example, if I wanted to nominate daven, I would write:

daven, Operation: $$ accumulation

You should also include a couple sentences about why you're nominating them.

I'm going to pick ~5 finalists based on your nominations, and then I'll ask you guys to vote on the winner. I will pick finalists based on the explanations that support your nominations and also on the number of nominations.

A couple rules:
1) Please don't nominate yourself.
2) You can nominate ONE person each month.

I'm pretty much making up this contest as it goes along and this is obviously the trial run. If you have any suggestions, feel free to post or PM me.

I want to create the finalists voting thread at the end of the week, so GOGOGO with your nominations!

Vi-Zer0Skill, Poker and Life in Australia: 2011

The blog was started just this past month, and I think it's awesome so far! Vi-Zer0Skill blogs about his experience going to school and playing poker in Australia. I think it's a really nice mix of poker and real life stuff. When it comes to poker stuff, I like how he includes HH's, general thoughts, and results.

If you're a fan of his blog too, go ahead and nominate him again with your own description of why you're a fan. Or if there is a different blog you like better, go ahead and nominate it.

I really like all the Canadian op threads, but I'm going to nominate Rav's over the others because he's been writing more regularly.

3 main contenders for me this month, I nominate:
vi-zero - the oz story is fun to read (is he going to seduce his roommate? how about get eaten by sharks south in margaret river? etc). The music links are non-trivial (i got exposed to the mountain goats for the first time when it was one of the albums we had with us while road-tripping to/from west coast work last week). The poker discussion isn't tilting to read. The latest post re opportunity cost, poker and pros/cons of playing is gold. And i like jumping on bandwagons sometimes.

bikes and m2m are both good reads as well, for loads of reasons. Slev is always good. Team canada need to write more.

VI. For all of the reasons already mentioned. Hope he keeps it coming .

for pure entertainment value, but if it wasn't for the shear stupidity of it I would have voted for Vis which is a great read.

I definitely think it's fair to nominate blogs for their entertainment value!
