dude, guess you know already, but try and avoid getting blind/out of control when you're beyond where you should be, where you're safe, or where you understand.
It happens though, I had a couple of late-night interesting times in the seedy parts of La Paz and backstreet Buenos Aires - and hope to never experience that again.
