Its not athing i do to much at FR. On everest the opp's are quite poor. either too tight or too passive therefore i dont have much FE PF or postflop. just not enough in betweens to make this move against. 100NL FR is a money maker. Once i get some cash built up this month ill move back to 6max maybe.

I like to mix up playing FR, 6max and PLO to keep motivated BTW. I got to bogged down at 200NL 6max

I thought I was headed for a near record night last night. I finished ahead $238, but I was up more than twice that for a good while.

Lost a $200 stack with KK vs a well hidden flopped straight (at least I had a redraw there).

Lost a half stack at $200 with QQ vs flopped set.

Made a major 160BB mistake at the $50 6 max tables with a risky check-raise push on the river with the second nuts. Of course he called with the nuts. Also lost AK vs QQ for half a stack, AK vs J8 all in preflop against a maniac. He hits his 8. 40BB stack with AK vs KJ sooted that hits the runner runner str8. $50 6 max did not receive me warmly LOL.....ended up down almost a buyin there. The 160BB mistake was the worst by far.

Creamed $100 FR again on 2 tables. Started 3 tables of $200.

Vi--I had an ace in my hand both times . I really thought I had you on flop when you had set. NH on both....

    Total for prop bet= +$1903.

+$278 tonight, but I have to stop spewing!! I was up 3 buyins at $50 6 max and managed to donk part of that off....I miscliked call on turn by the way, meant to put him in on turn. Should have reraised pre but planned on outplaying him postflop (LAGGy).

This following hand is against Narena, a nitty but solid multitabling reg at $200 that runs about 19/6/3 over decent sample.....help me here. Uses position fairly well...I think my river bet sucks but I thought I could fold a smaller straight or a hand like TT and some sets/two pairs with all the draws out there.

I was going through some HH's i have on Narena and see that he double barrelled twice with air IP in HU pots, so i think it is actually fairly likely he has a hand like two pair or maybe 10-10+ on the turn. When you consider he lead the flop in a multiway pot and didn't reraise preflop, i imagine he has almost exactly 10-10 or J-J, sometimes 10-9/J-9. Someimes a FD.

As for whether your river bet will work, i would just probably go $55-60 instead of $40something.

You must be playing some really good poker right now; your profits just keep going up and up and up... nice work!

C-bet that flop! c/c oop on a drawy board with a mediocre one pair hand... yuck. As played, I don't know what you can rep after the c/c on the flop... give up I think.

TY-Vi. I feel I am playing pretty well but I also know I am running well, haven't seen many sets over sets and flush over flush type hands recently. When the hits come they come hard, though. I should post my graph for the year because it's gross......I am on a massive upswing that could be ending any day. Just hope I get to $2800 before it does

Z--I thought about cbetting, but I chose not to because...

It was Narena, and he could have cold called me with a lot of hands that beat me, and maybe not even three bet me with AA/KK in position. I thought it was a slightly ahead/way behind situation. TT-QQ seemed very likely, and ATs-AK as well.

I thought it to be a pot control situation at that point. Also brought T&P into play (check a lot of flops when called behind). I know I would have to balance this against Narena by checking a set to him HU, or AA to him HU too. Plus I forgot to mention he had played back at me a couple of times on another table already.

His bet gave me approx 3:1. I should have folded or raised here I think, but at the time I thought I had 5 clean outs.

Free river was great, and at that time I thought he might be afraid of flush draw coming in.

At the time, I thought I could rep a flush draw that missed a check raise when it came in, or 67/45/56.

    Now looking at it:

Leading would be better, I could proceed with caution if called and fold if raised.

He may not know (although I would think he should) that I am capable of raising SC in MP.

I can't rep a set because it should bet the flop and protect from the draw, unless it came in on turn/river. However, leading the river had I hit a set with 66 or the turn if I had 33 would be suicide, so he can't believe I have a set.

I tried to make my hand look like a value bet. I don't know if he has seen me push the river with a made hand or not. That probably had more FE than the line I took.

Some more thoughts... your flop c/c just looks so weak here. Wouldn't you always lead such a drawy board with an overpair, set, or flush draw? As played you're repping missed overs, imo. At first glance I don't mind your river bet for thin value, because your line makes no sense and it looks like you're just trying to buy the pot. The problem is, what worse hands call? T9s (if he even plays that pre-flop) and 88 are the only ones I can think of. 22-77 all have you beat! Given his pre-flop range, this is just a terrible board for you.

    flop--leading>>c-f>>c-r>c-c

You are right that I normally lead this flop. OOP this hand sucked and plays a lot differently IP. This is a horrible board for me for sure. Just don't know why he never showed strength...his flop bet was soooo weak....

888 hands, +$331. Two HUGE mistakes, one where I called down with TPTK on J high board and ran into KK, and another where I reraised preflop in CO with JJ, was called behind by I guy I usually pwn, and was called by both MP players. Flop is low with two hearts, I only have pot behind, and I push. WTF was I thinking he called behind me with?
Of course it was KK......and he's not folding it in such a big pot. HUGE ERROR!!

Still, I feel good because not only is my total for bet +$2511, but my BR is at an all time high after my RB payment (not included in prop bet total). $8330. Which makes my career earnings after my withdrawals over $10K for the first time!!!

Nothing big to report, not many hands last night, $102 profit.

$2613 for prop bet total. I think I will play tonight until I am up $188 and stop. Stack someone first hand? I'M DONE LOL!! Just kidding....that's not in the spirit of the game.

Just wanted to take a minute and reflect on the last 16 months or so since I started playing this game seriously for money and tried to get better. I would have never thought that:

I would be where I am.
I would make so many new friends playing it.

Thanks to everyone here at FTR that has helped me. Hopefully one day I will give some part of that help back.

    GL this weekend all!

It's over.....the prop bet, that is. Going into the night I needed a shade under $200 to win. I started out losing a stack with a combo draw and a couple other half stack hands, so I spotted GOAT $400 from the get go.

Results below. Graph since 4/23 attached as well.

Congrats c-man! You made short work of the challenge.

    Hello z00ted,

We have transferred $100.00 from your account to 'cardsman1992' as per your request.

    Good luck to you both.

DG, glad to see you're upswinging now, finally.

I've enjoyed talking poker with both of you guys. You're good enough to beat 200nl for a healthy margin if you stay focused. Hope you make it beyond there too.

Last night was insanely entertaining. I sat at a $200 table with a 90/40/3. I'm sorry to say that I ended up down two buyins against him, but it more or less boiled down to one hugley stupid mistake where I pushed top two into his flopped baby flush (I was in CO and raised, and he called--one time he didn't play absolutely horribly) for 250 BB. He would bet/raise streets with absolutely nothing and with a flop he hit, so reading him was difficult at times. I thought my 2 pair was golden. Another time he called my combo draw flop push with top pair T7 (paired the 7)! The other stack I lost to him I had my money in against him good with QQ vs JJ and he rivered a J. A bunch of middlish pots I had to fold against him, etc. I ended up doubling up through him a couple of times, and the action he was generating was crazy! He was sitting with $1400 at one point, and he ended up blowing EVERY LAST penny of it LOL....thank God some of it was to me! I had my second biggest stack ever monetarily ($1022--biggest online--I had a stack of about $1200 live one time at a $1-$3 table). It was insane, just wish I had been able to hold up against him a couple of other times....

I also accumulated 4BI on another $200 table. Very swingy, but nicely profitable night....+$410. Takes my total roll to $9300 and this operation almost to completion.

I am thinking about taking a couple stabs at a $400 since my roll is in this shape. Thoughts/opinions/suggestions? I don't feel I have played enough hands at $200, but maybe as a reward?

Shots are good. I like to take shots whenever my BR hits 20+ buyins, just to get a feel for the next level and just in case I run good. That being said, 400nl full-ring at FT is not that soft. At 200nl I never had problems finding fish, usually 1 or 2 per table. At 400nl it was sometimes tough to find even one fish per table on three tables. And usually they were shortstacked. The regulars are a little better than the regulars at 200nl, less nitty, more aggressive, they don't fold to c-bets as often, etc. but they aren't that great. My biggest problem was that the easy money wasn't nearly as abundant as at 200nl. Feel free to e-mail me with specific questions or notes on regulars.

Good luck and congrats on your run thus far.

Last night's results weren't great. I was down $530 for my biggest losing night in a long time. Funny what playing with $200 stacks does to the raw number. That would have been $200 and change before, and I would have shrugged that off like nothing. I actually don't feel too bad about it though. I got stacked once with a flopped straight against a set that filled up on the river, so that was only an 80/20, and once with a set of 4s against KK that hit a K on the turn. The other time was a set against my AA, so I had my money in good 2 out of three times, anyway. I did lose a large pot where I 3bet AK preflop, cbet the whiffed flop and had the villain check-raise pushed his stack at me. I always feel I am against a pair in this case. On a raggy flop, do you give up these pots 100% of the time? I just feel like it's exploitable if I fold too often.

Z--I may seek you out if I decide to do it. Sounds like building more roll at $200 might be the way to go. Anyone have an opinion on the $400 at Stars, AP, or UB?

Even if you're sure it's a pair and not a set and you're sure you have six clean outs, you have to be getting better than 2:1 to call. It's rare that you're getting odds that good and even rarer that you can be sure villain has a pair with no ace or king kicker. In other words, it's almost always a fold. People just don't bluff often enough in 3-bet pots (and rightly so).

It had to come to an end sooner or later....two nights in a row of decent sized losses. Biggest pot I won last night was about $56 I think, and I lost a couple of stacks at $200. Down $460 for the night and $1K for the last two nights. One stacking was AA vs KK where he open pushed a raggy flop at me after I three bet him and he called PF. That can be JJ-KK/AK/draw too, so I think that play is okay. Another stack was with a 15 out draw 3 way and no outs hit--money was in good so my Sklansky bucks are in the bank, waiting for me to withdraw them. Lost a stack at $100 with another power draw that didn't hit, and a pot that I grew too large with TPTK against two pair. Played well at $50 6 max, though. Up a couple of buyins.

I was expecting this, since I have seemingly hit every draw for a month and avoided sets a lot. BR is still in good shape too. Just gotta keep grinding because I still think I am playing decent for the most part.

I have fallen from the graces of the poker gods....

Horrible horrible night last night, down $950 for a whopping $2k in 3 days. Didn't start out all that badly, but I pushed a couple of strong draws that didn't come in, then I ran into a stupid LAGG or two at 6 max that outflopped my AQ with A8 (flop A82 or something like that), and got generally lucky against the whole table. Then on a $200 table I raise KK in the CO and get cold called by the BB. Flop is rags with one heart and BB check calls. Turn is a low heart and he check calls again. River is another heart, he checks, I bet for value discounting the flush and sure enough he called me down with AK hearts. No pair on the flop, no pair on the turn, just a draw which I 3/4 potted and he called anyway. I should have gotten up then, because that hand pissed me off. He was a 31/12/1 type, so I didn't figure I was beat and any hand that does would lead out. I spewed some after that, I know I made a bad push on the button with a pair and straight draw, I got called by a higher straight draw plus flush draw so I was in worse shape than I thought. I made some other preflop calls that I don't make when I am playing well. Story of the night is in the stats. Won money when seeing flop=28% (usually in the mid 30s, and almost 40 when running well). Win at showdown=35%. Postflop aggression was under 2. Combination of playing badly and missing boards. As I mentioned yesterday, I hit seemingly every draw for a month or more, so I should expect to be missing draws now.

I am not used to losing a large sum of money like this so it bothered me, but if I ever aspire to move up I need to get used to this.

I am also ashamed because I violated my personal threshold of 3-4 buyins before quitting. Definitely some tilt involved and I didn't do anything about it. So I am exposing myself and making myself accountable to my readersfor that.

I will go write it on the blackboard 50 times now.......I WILL NOT LOSE MORE THAN 4 BUYINS!

I feel ya c-man, I dropped $850 last night. Review your session carefully, be brutally honest with yourself, and maybe cut down the number of tables now that you're playing up at 200nl? GL.

Sorry to hear that, Z....that stings!

    Suggest a mix if I drop tables? Maybe 3 $200, 1 $100, 2 $50 6max?

Sure. Just make sure all the tables are juicy. If table VPIP isn't over 30 AND you can't identify at least one donator to your right (and hopefully 2 per table at full-ring) stand up and find another table. FWIW, I used to 7- or 8-table 200nl full-ring and I'm having some trouble 6-tabling 6max. I might drop down to 4 at 400nl and see if that helps. I've never done the mixed FR and 6max like you're doing, but adding any 6max tables makes it more intense, I'm sure.

LOL it does make it intense as I try to get all my HUDS up and the players where they belong...

I almost think there's no point in 1 $100 table. May split 2/2 or go 4/0 in favor of $200.

6 max tables in the mix doesn't make it TOO much worse once I get settled in....but I may be playing a little bit too robotic, too.

imo, if you're comfortably rolled for $200 you should play as many juicy $200 tables as you can find. Fill the rest of your available "attention slots" up with $100 6-max tables.

sorry to see you are in a bit of a nasty downswing man. I like your attitude towards the situation though. Looking for areas of improvement in the midst of bad times is a very promising sign that you can/will go far with poker IMO.

    Hope it turns around soon!

Another rough night last night. May's profit down the drain. Goat prolly wishes the bet was still on...he would be crushing me now. Played bad, ran into cooler hands. Made a couple of horrible stackoffs to tight players.

    Poka sux.

    That is all.

(just kidding, back on the horse tonight. Rough losing streak though....)

My God, when it rains it pours!!

Plenty of Sklansky bux, I need to cash them in kthx? Either that or they are being withdrawn LOL....

This makes a 15 BI downswing....AT $200!!!! No more $200 for me for a while...I am going back to $100 to lick my wounds and build back up. Still rolled for $200 but the losses get to me, so I will wait to go back. Not to mention that I am -3 pt/bb 100 over 11K hands now.

Some of my fun last night...

Flopped str8 with a FD. Got all in on flop against higher FD. Flush card comes on the turn. I was only 3:1 there though.

I reraise with JJ. Pick up OESD. Get it in and am up against QQ. I pray for his set that doesn't come.

I decide to look a bad LAG up and of course he has AA. Those were the worst hands last night. I had a lot of hands like KK and then an A flops when 6 people call your raise, etc. Just a high variance night, with a bad play or two thrown in.

    -$500

The magic can leave as quickly as it comes!!

Another $650 dropped tonight, ran into 8 sets, AK into both AA and KK, AA into sets and 2 pairs, flopped another straight to get runner runner flushed, two pair <<<<<flush draw. Crap like AJ into JJ. Get my money in ahead and get outdrawn.

Why can't this game be more even keel????

Why do all the bad losses have to come at once?

I am going away tomorrow night. I need a break I think.....

I have made a little comeback over the last couple of days. I was up $500 last night and $50 over a very small session on Saturday before I left, so the panic is gone. I feel like I played fairly well, but I know I made a few bad plays. Below are last night's big pots--I only lost one stack all night at $100, playing a draw aggro (after PFRing) and pushing it into a made hand that was the same hand I was drawing to. I am leaving results in on a couple of them just because I am posting them for fun. The 97 hand was badly played but a nice suckout. If you didn't know what cards they have it wouldn't look QUITE as bad, but still a little bad.

Z, Goat--I read your session reviews. Thanks a lot for putting time into that for me. I will respond later today in a combo file of both reviews. I am off to play some golf here in a few.

My success was short lived. I was down another 4 buyins last night, even though I can really only pinpoint two big mistakes, once when I CRAI QQ on a drawy flop in a 3bet preflop pot and pushed it right into AA, and once where I lost a stack with AA to a set.

Lost a lot of pots to shorties, and ran into some bad luck (2 pair into sets, etc). Have a shorty crushed with AK on a Kxx flop with one club, he calls with KJ clubs and runners a flush. That kind of crap.

Win at showdown was 35%. That should tell you something.

    Meh.

Haven't posted in a while. Had a more or less breakeven week until the weekend. Then it all came crashing down on me again. I managed to bleed off another $1100 and was feeling really discouraged. My win at showdown % was 36%--not for one day, but FOR THE WEEKEND!!

Didn't play on Tuesday because of a dance recital, but before I played last night, I looked at my last 3 weeks. Not in every big pot I lost, but in at least 3/4 of them, I had my money in good--either a big favorite or getting odds to draw out against a shorty. That made me feel a lot better. Z, DG, FWIW, I ran 19/15/3.5 and stayed out of trouble a little more preflop.

I did take another shot at $200. Within about 20 hands I ran KK into AA.....$200 NL hates me....LOL.....
