200 hours of grind in ~34 days

Default 200 hours of grind in ~34 days

    Long story short:
I've been on a poker break from April 1st to early June after getting married/honeymoon/etc. Roll went from ~25k to ~13k and June went uber bad at 200nl so I ended up cashing down to 3.5k and dropping to 100nl. July was good so far and I'm now at ~8.3k.

I want to grind back to where my roll belongs but to do this I need to put the hours in. Since I don't play more than 12 tables at any time, I'm going to aim at a number of hours to play from July 21st to August 25th (date at which I'm going on holiday). The number I'm going for is 200 hours before that date, which basically means I'm targeting around 6 hours a day of grind. If I end up making less than 170 hours I'll consider it a failure. Since my goal is mainly to make money and not just randomly putting the hours, I won't play when I'm not on my A-game.

GL me. I'll try to post updates here as much as I can.

    tyty guys.

I finished my first session at 100nl just now:
    Time played: 6h20mins
    Also cleared a $1,500 bonus

Super solid way to start the operation imo...

First losing sesh in 11 days. Played like 40 minutes and lost almost 4 buy ins. Got coolered mainly, so I can't complain. I might play another sesh this evening.

Overall I feel it's gonna be tough to reach the 200 hours mark. When I 12 table for 6-7 hours I end up sleeping a ton and the next day I'm not really in shape to play another 6 hours sesh. I'll push as much as I can though

    keep the grind on, but don't forget that 140hrs of A-game >>>>>>>>> 140hrs of A-game and 60hrs of c-game...

Good luck on your grind, if I were you I'd just make a schedule for every day.

Like wake up at 10, breakfast shower coffee etc. then start a 2 hour session at 11->13:00, break, continue etc. That's just an example, and I've never grinded that much tbh, but it'd make sense that creating some sort of routine will help you play your A-Game, right.

Gl and keep us up to date, it also motivates me to get better

In a vacuum, that's true, but realistically, I don't think that's necessarily true. If those extra hours one night prevent you from having the same "A" game the next day or something similar, it has a cumulative affect to lose or not win as much, which is very similar to losing. I think it's best to always strive for "A" game and it's one of the reasons I specifically do not set goals related to hands played. The fact that I having a one day stop loss is another big reason and a "hands played" goal could potentially be at odds with it.

    But, good luck either way

right, but I have the problem where I give up hundreds of hours of A game because I am afraid of playing my B game

Bradley, although I kind of like the idea of a schedule, I don't think I can stick to it. The problem is that that my sleeping schedule is messed up, and like if I'm playing a late session at night and I'm playing well, I just won't end the session to stick with the schedule.

Totally agree with daven and Jason on what they said, and that's pretty much why I will be very happy with 170 hours. The thing is, I don't tilt on the tables, I don't spew buy ins like some people do. When I feel like I can't get a hand out of my head, it's time to stop because from there on it will only go downhill. So in other words this operation is about trying to go for more A-game during this month if you will.

Today I played barely 40 minutes and got coolered a few times, one of them 200bb deep. So I decided to call it a day and basically rest (I've already put in ~90 hours before this operation this month already lol).

This brings me to another point: At the end of my >6 hours sessions, I find myself losing focus and playing my B game at best. So I decided to start hitting the gym... I'm just back from it now and I will try going to the gym about 2-3 times a week to try and get in a good physical shape.[/quote]

remember that B and C game produces VPPs !

This morning I played 3 hours and 20 mins. 2419 hands for +6 buy ins. Stopped playing after I dropped 2 buy ins in the end in spots where I think I should have gotten away from. Couldn't get them out of my head, etc etc, sit out and play later.

Maybe I play more this evening but I'm not sure.
So far I've played a bit more than 10 hours, so I'm already behind schedule a bunch.

Remember that "A" game produces more bankroll, which produces higher stakes, which produces more VPPs than "B" or "C" game ever could

To me hand volume goals only make sense @ a level you can crush in your sleep and even then you'd be better spent @ higher levels not on autopilot. But, it sounds like you're aware of your state of mind and as long as it's a high # of quality hours, that's the main point.

    Up until day 4, 8pm:
    16.5 hours of play, 11788 hands, 4.06ptbb/100.

I still have exactly 31 days to play 183.5 hours. However, there's a chance I'm traveling for 2 days during this period, so I have to play more per day to compensate.

Today I played ~3300 hands of 200nl during which I ran super good (AA's won me 4 buy ins), but felt like I played somewhat bad... I ended up winning 1.5 buy ins which isn't bad for my first day back at those limits. Hopefully I run good for the first 20k hands and I get in a spot where I can afford a small downswing.

17 days in and 18 days left, so about halfway through and only 72 hours of play so far

So I've been playing 4.2 hours on average which is a record for me, but I'm going to try and catch up with my target. The reason I haven't played as much as I would've wanted is two downswings I took just as I went back to 200nl. So now I'm back at mixing 100nl and 200nl.

If I play 6 hours a day from here on, I'll have ended at ~180 hours. So I guess this is my new objective. This would also help me clear a couple more bonuses for much needed $ for my roll.
