FWIW, clearing Full Tilts $600 bonus is very difficult at 25NL and below. It's easy money at 50NL+, but you have to put in a ton of hands at 25! Good luck!

thanks illfavor, i hadnt really looked into the hands i needed, i was just going off my first deposit on stars. When i look back i did do a lot of hands and many of them at $50. Might have a re think and go for $50. but need to consider my BR I have a firm 5% on one table rule so could only put $41.50 on to a table, however I have short stacked pretty effectively on the past.

Just got back from leave, 6 weeks away from normal life is good for you.

After 6 months i have realised what a stupid title this blog had. Watching the money makes no sense, it just adds pressure you dont need and makes you play hands differently because you do not want to miss that arbitrary goal.

So i have changed the name to something about playing what i consider to be good poker. i am sure everybody has a different idea of good poker but I have decided that my definition will be about making the right decision at any given time.

    eg.
Last night I folded QQ pre flop for (i think the first time) the other guys went all in with AKs and AA. That was a good decision hence good poker.

In the same game i raised from early position with AJ. Had one caller. flop came A73 rainbow. I bet 3/4 of the pot he called.
turn Q i check folded his all in. That was bad poker. I should have made different decisions the most important one was not to play the hand in the first place.
so from now on this blog is going to look at my good and bad decisions. No more money talk.

I have changed the games i play completely. I now multitable (6 or 8) .02/.05 NLHE on stars.

If anybody would like to comment on my decisions and suggest alternatives to the bad ones you will be most welcome.

Lost quite a bit of money getting all in with KK pre flop. Is this a good decsion?

Used pokerstove to help decide, with the following situation.
Neither Hero or villain is in the blinds. They are 50BB deep

Hero has KK should he be prepared to get all in pre?

Villains range is the deciding factor.

    Villains range for negative equity
    KK+ EV(hero)=-27BB
    KK+,AK EV(hero)=-2BB
QQ+ EV(hero)=0 (at least very close to it.)

If villain adds one more hand to his range it becomes positive equity
    villains range QQ+,AK ev(hero)= +8bb
    KK+,AK,AQs ev(hero)= +8bb.

assuming x% of the time villain has KK+ and the rest he has a wider range then x must be smaller than 22 to make this a good play. So 4 times out of 5 the villain has to have a wider range.

I think calling all in pre is a bad decision most of the time. So i wont do it anymore.

The week after i stop worrying about the $1000 dollar target i make the target! It took seven months, I played just about everysort of poker changed from tournaments to cash from NLHE to 8 game and HORSE. In the end it was just one big finish in a $3 re buy. 7th place for just over $1200.

Whats next ? no idea but probably another operation another target and definately some more poker.

Thanks to all those who offered advice to me i appreciated all of it.

your reasoning is flawed. You have already committed chips to the pot, so typically you need to be good about 35% of the time.
50bb deep in cash games never fold KK pre.
