Oh yeah, and same subject was covered in The Art of Learning: A Journey in the Pursuit of Excellence by Josh Waitzkin.
It's also proven with a loooot of people who have the over-reaction when they don't get something right the first time have a hard time really pushing themselves, so then the fear of getting it wrong makes them not even want to try. Though of course failure is something that actually helps instead of harms.
I feel the same way. If I fail at something, emotionally I have to get over it, and I was always told when I was a kid, "Of course you're not good in blahblah subject, your mom/dad wasn't either" I think that if I was told, "Well, you just need to work harder next time" it would have changed a lot about how I think and react to things.
