    Default WWJD? - preflop question

What would Jesus (Ferguson, of course) do?

    Or... if you were Jesus...

PL/$25. This was a pretty tough table I've figured as the betting when it happens is hard. I've taken a bit of a beating but am trying to stay tight and disciplined. Then I'm dealt AKo in middle position.

Left of UTG raises to 0.50 (blinds are 0.25). This is a small raise so I try to get more information - I raise to $1 (maybe should have raised more... anyways)... guy in the cutoff IIRC raises the pot (a bit less than $4). First raiser calls. It's just us three.

    WWJD?!

I folded, fearing AA or KK for the 2nd raiser. Flop came AK-rag (which pissed me off of course), pot went over $20, and showdown left the original raiser with KQ and the potraiser QQ.... I'm having a bit of a bad run and this I think affected my decision.

Now, did I do the right thing? Believe me laying down AK was hard...

    himself fucker.
Now, let's make a key difference between what you said and what you should have said.

    You feared Aces or Kings.

You did not believe he had Aces or Kings. You were just afraid that aggression meant the nuts.

If you believe the reraiser has to have QQ, KK or AA then it's a clear fold. Especially if the reraiser is weak/tight. But you gave no description of the player or reason to believe he had a big hand.

Jesus would have studied his opponent and his situation, placed opponent on a hand range, noted his poor position and reacted appropriately. He would then have only complained if he flopped quads. "God damnit!"

    Rilla: thanks for the feedback.

It's valuable (to me) and gave me a bit of a laugh as well.
