Would you call this all-in?

Sitting on AKo in middle position...raise 5x BB. 2 people call. Flop is Q92 rainbow. I was first to act and bet about half the pot. They both call. Turn is a 4, everyone checks. River comes a K, not helping a flush draw. I bet half the pot again, and LP goes all in for 20 bucks (we had about equal stacks). LP is average...not too loose, not too tight.

What do you do?

Let me see...about 3 bucks preflop...about 5 more on the flop to make it 8, then my 5 buck bet on the river...after my river bet about 12 bucks.

So it's a $20 bet into a $12 pot...I think I'm good with folding this, but I haven't been at the lower levels in a while. I know they LOOOOOVE to bluff like this. I'd keep telling my buddy while he was playing "he's got the goods. Fold." to which he'd reply..."nah...I don't think so." and then the guy who I thought had a set or something would showdown second pair or a busted flush draw.

So.....yeah...

But my advice? Fold. Looks like someone was slowplaying a set.

Generally its not a good idea to call overbets or big raises on the river with one pair. Was he a maniac or a fish, does he bluff a lot? then maybe call..

If the pot was 12 bucks you've only invested $4 of your money, so maybe its smartest to chose a better time to push your stack in.

I agree with the above. Like they said, a set could be slowplayed and u'd be blowing u'r stack on TPTK...Better to take the loss of the money invested, then to lose all of your chips, don't play "woulda shoulda coulda"

I ended up folding. I hadn't seen this guy check down a pot like that...he was typically betting when he had a hand. If he had a set, I think he would have reraised me on the flop. My feeling was that he had some hand like K10 or KJ, but I was only about 50%, and I'm not gonna gamble with that. It is lower limit, some people are really splashy and will literally call any preflop bet with any hand.

I agree with the fold, hands not strong enough to call an overbet on the river.

yea id say he either had KQ, QQ or 99. maybe even 22 is he's a loose player. You have to realize, what seperates weak NL players from solid ones is, solid players consider the other guys hand.

If you showed strenght preflop, and on the flop, and he STILL reraises you, I highly doubt he is bluffing.

J10 is also a distinct possibility

I agree with aceofone, he definitely could have 10J in which case, you are owned, and should fold. Some would call with tha because J10 is known as the best drawing hand to have.
