Default Wish I found this site sooner

    Hey all
I'm a beginner who's been playing on Poker Room for few months now. Baiscally found out about online poker during a game my friend put together.
Well, I screwed up bankroll management but I'm improving as a player. Currently the lowest limit PR has is .25/.25 and I've got a bankroll of $104 and change. (started at $50).

Anyway, reading this site has given me great insight and I was wondering if I should bother switching sites to get a lower-stakes game to fit my bankroll, or continue with my limited success at PR and slowly raise my BR.

    Hey dOOd, welcome to FTR.

In answer to your question, if you are playing .25 NL, then yes switch to a different site immediately. You will probably lose all your money if you continute to play with 4 buyins. Look for a site that offers 10NL, or even 5NL. Remember, 15 buyin minimum for No Limit.

    Thanks for the response

Just dreading the cash out and re transfer when it costs $ from Net Teller to do so...

I like the SnG tourneys better, I was thinking of sticking it out on the $5 - .50 tourneys they had there as it would at least give me 20 buy-ins

Neteller only charges you when you deposit money from your checking account. You can pull money out and transfer it to another poker room at no charge.
I'll be a rootin' tootin' shootin' damn fool, protectin' my chips.

I didn't know that since I have only deposited once. Thanks for the info.

Yes, when in doubt switch to a site with lower stakes. You can always move back up in stakes when you are more confident.

yeah I dont quite remember what the bankroll requirements are for SnG tournaments (They are lower than for NL I think) Check the bankroll management thread.

Some people say 15xBB is enough for SNGs, some people say 20xBB, others say 25xBB, there are some that say 30 or above should be the minumum for a serious player at the high levels.

I have gone many many OOTM before, and i can guarantee that 15xBB is not enough, especially at Party poker. There have been variance simulations where a realy good player can go through 17 Buyin drops. I think the minumum should be at 25. But thats just me.

You're half right there... they only charge when you use the instant transfer option. The standard EFT is free but it takes time
