Default When Continuation Bets Just Won't Work

So when you're in a game where many of your opponenets will call your c-bets to see if you'll follow through on the turn, how do you adjust? Does this force you to fire more second barrels? Do you hide your tail and c-bet less often? How do you exploit this stubbornness?

I met a woman at foxwoods that just couldn't fold without seeing the turn, but she folded to the second barrel with anything less than tptk. She was a strange, isolated case tho.

Mix it up, cbet only 20% of the time or so, and fire a second barrel 50% if they get real stubborn.
    Check out my self-deprecation here!

    Here are my c-betting guidlines:

With 1 opponent w/position: Always. Raising most donk bets into me.
With 1 opponent without position: Always. Pending monster flops that need to be slowplayed (still bet though).

With 2 opponents: Same as above, only a little less.

3 opponents: Little less than 2.

A lot depends on a dozen factors. Let's say you have AK and missed, fire off a second barrell but into no more than one opponent.

I remember a 20xBB raise I made one night @ a B&M in the SB with AA. I had 4 callers! Flop: Rainbow, check, call. Turn: check, call. River: check, call. Pot: $300. Why? Information gathering + opponents betting 1/4 or less pot sized bets with TPWK.

The first question you need to ask yourself is "is all this calling a real change in the table/players or is it just variance". C-betting is typically a moneymaker, but only over the long run. If you noticed your C-bets are getting called a lot, you may have just run into a string of hands. Remember, poker is a game of TREMENDOUS variation, never forget that. Also, positions, players, tables texture, and previous hands are all extremely important in making decisions on c-betting.

I think its useful to leave the table or tighten up preflop when this happens because when you get caught with your pants down several times everyone will be encouraged to do the same i.e. to call your c-bets.

    Value bet more crap hands.

Raise TT and the flop comes J high?
    Value bet it.

Raise A9 and flop comes T92?
    Value bet it.

AJ on J high flop? Value bet

AJ on 9 high flop? Check and value bet the J turn.
gabe: Ive dropped almost 100k in the past 35 days.
