I am a fairly new player as well and am trying to memorize the odds chart to help me make good decisions in my game. An oldtimer once told me of a easy way to figure out the approximate odds, so i will share it with you. The advanced players most likely dont like it but for beginners it is pretty good i think.

Odds on the turn - # of outs x 4
Odds on the river - # of outs x 2
