t now seems like i see 1 flop in maybe 10+ hands....waiting for strong hands...and hence predictable and tight. and when i did get an AKo with TPTK on flop i got smashed by low pockets (yes i know typical example)

Is this what discipline is all about and beginners should start off by justing playing the good cards and be tight?

Also...

are there charts that state the odds of hitting a flush (135?) or straight on the flop....

so should i fold pre-flop with all connectors, suited and suited connectors if they are low? I understand that these cards often are second best...a few times i've hit the flush (suited hole) only to be beat by someone with a higher flush...=( ... i was cut but coped... i'm no mathemagenius but what are the odds of someone else holding suited hole cards when you do?

So here's my dilemma, as a beginner should i play tightarse or at least give it a go with weak cards if i feel that the situation is playable....

thanks for your opinions...
