Default What is a killer win rate, BB/100?

I have logged 7500 hands of Pokerstars 25NL lately and am winning at 8.5 BB/100 not-including bonuses. I figure Big Bet not Big Blind right? i.e. twice the NL Big Blind = $0.50 at 25NL. I don't feel like I am killing the game. Actually sometimes I feel like I am average or worse. Yet 8.5BB/100 doesn't sound bad. Someone please let me know where this stands.
What win rate is killing a game? 20+BB/100?
I respect a lot of other posters opinions, so what are other's win rates on this board if you are willing to share?
What is scraping by? 2-3BB/100? I hear that is good for limit poker.

I included a poll for those wanting to remain anonymous. Please figure correctly and be honest or the poll is moot.

i guess it depends on the limit. i dont feel that 25BB/100 is truly killing the 5NL game but oh my god 10 BB/100 at 400NL would be nice.

edit: sorry that should be 5NL not %NL
gabe: Ive dropped almost 100k in the past 35 days.

I think that a long term rate of 25BB/100 (where BB means 2xbig blind) would be unsustainable, pretty much. 10,000 hands, yes, 100,000, I seriously doubt it.

~10BB/100 and higher at pretty much anything but micro limit NL is doing well. 20BB/100 is very difficult to achieve and I challenge anyone who claims to have much more than that over a significant number of hands. Sure it's possible, but if you are beating a game that soundly then you should be playing a higher limit anyways.

i think 25PTBB/100 is more than sustainable at 5NL. Im not a great player but im hovering at aroung 18PTBB/100 at 5NL after somewhere around 12k hands and im sure some of you guys could do way better if you dropped down a few levels (and still managed to concentrate)

In my case an Excel spreadsheet does fine.
I am contemplating PT, but it doesn't support Bodog. What do you do in these cases? Can you manually input winnings, hands, & time played for non-supported sites?

i think youd probably have to convert the hand histories into a supported format and then enter them as though you played it on another site. Actually it shouldnt be too hard to write a little C program that reads in the bodog hand histories and writes an output text file as a stars hand history. I might look into doing that in a couple of weeks after ive finished my work.

Since playing @ 10nl a week ago I've been between 20-35bb/100. I have been having problems getting pokerstracker working, and I'm a little computer illiterate. Can someone post a guideline or link as help to input PokerStars info.? I'd like to gather all info from there since I started lastweek and find out my results. Thanks.

For a statistically significant amount of hands ~100K

15BB/100 for 25NL is a great winrate and you should move up long before reaching 100K hands

10BB/100 for 100NL is a great winrate and you should move up long before reaching 100K hands.

    5BB/100 for 1000NL is a fantastic winrate.

I've heard that very few players can make more than 3BB/100 in the Party 2000NL games long term.

Thanks, Bill. That is exactly the info I was looking for. Anyone have a different opinion?

1)Have pokerstars save the hand histories to a folder on your hard drive by clicking on the options button at the top of the instant hand history window.

2)Have pokertracker auto import set to read said folder.

    That is all.

    Wait a sec...

I don't want to sound like a retard, but I've always assumed that BB, at least in relation to "BB/100", is big blinds earned every hundred hands. And now I see some people saying it's Big Bet? I thought this was no-limit, not limit.

So if I'm making 15BB at 25nl, am I making $3.75 every hundred hands, or $7.50?

Some clarification would be nice. Thanks

its expressed as big bets like limit is because its the convention that poker tracker uses. 1 big bet = 2 big blinds

Winrates suck, once you've played a relevant sample of 200k hands (100k gives you a good idea) your skills will have changed, and probably the games (regardless of whether you moved up in stakes) have also changed. Just focus on playing every hand right and the money will roll right on in.

Obviously considering the higher stakes you play the more good ppl there will be and the less you will win. With this in mind I think....

    4bb/100 is decent

    5bb/100 is very good

6bb/100 or higher is extremely good and not very easy at all to maintain at higher stakes without perfect play.

So your 8.5bb/100 is very good, but since uve only played 7500 hands its not a very depiction of what your average over the long run will be, need atleast 25k hands, probly more like 40k.
