Since this thread sucks I'
m going to
hijack it with a copy/paste from a 2p2
post of mine from a long time ago:
Here are some PMs I shared with some ****tard named "bot_hunter" from here:
bot_hunter: Let me begin by saying I am not affiliated with any poker site
If this is the spoonitnow that plays on
Pokerstars contact me I have a proposition. If this is not, please let me know.
spoonitnow: yeah it is what's up
bot_hunter: I want a copy of the bot you use
spoonitnow: do you have a mac?
bot_hunter: I can get one easy enough.
spoonitnow: You're obviously not serious about this. There is no
PokerStars client for Mac.
bot_hunter: Obviously I overestimated you. I know
PS doesn't make a client for a mac. I thought you might be using a windows emulator on a mac. But if you
don't even know such a thing exists...
Yes, I'
m very serious. I datamine
PS and use poker tracking software to locate bots. I've only been using it for this purpose since the first of the year. I haven't found many good ones for
NLHE on
PS. The bot you use is one of the more profitable ones I've seen. I had found one about the same but I could not find its host and I just turned him in. It took about a week, but I no longer see that ID on
PS. Basically, I'
m done playing games here. I want a copy of that bot as you run it compressed either .rar or.zip. If your ready to send it to me and I'll
set up a place for you to email it. Otherwise...
spoonitnow: Wow. Just, wow.
It was a ****
test to see if you were one of my friends picking on me, but there is a Mac client for
PokerStars. The url to their page about it is here:
http://www.pokerstars.com/poker/download/mac/
Also, there is enough evidence that I am not a bot that no investigation by
PokerStars will never think that I am one. You are obviously not qualified to interpret statistics that you "datamine", so maybe you should give it up and try to get a job at McDonalds or something.
And if you spit in my Big Mac I'll get you fired. K thx.
bot_hunter: k i'll
turn u in and hunt 4 another
spoonitnow: You can't see me bitch *****. Best get off these spoonbot2k8
nuts before you get slapped up homie.
bot_hunter: If the empty threats and name calling make you feel better about soon getting your
bankroll seized ok. I'
m done with you and off hunting for someone else. Good luck.
spoonitnow: Okay okay fine I'll send you a copy. What's the email address?
Below is the email I sent to Stars with their reply. The part of their reply in bold is awesome
imo.

Hello! I've got a weird situation on my hands that I'
m not quite sure how to
deal with, and I figured it would be best if I contacted you guys before any sort of problems occurred. To me this is pretty stupid, but I'
m just trying to play it safe so that things
don't get out of hand.
A few days ago I received a private message on the 2+2 forums from a person with one
post named 'bot_hunter'. This individual seems to think that the play on my account is with some sort of "bot", and is now pressing me for a copy of said "bot". If I
don't comply, he's "threatening" to get my account kicked off of
PokerStars or something.
I have attached a screen shot of my correspondence with "bot_hunter" from the 2+2 forums to this email for obvious reasons. I asked the "do you have a mac?" question because I figured at first that it was just one of my comrades who often joke about me being a bot because of the amount of tables that I sometimes play playing a joke on me and I was playing
back. However, here is a direct quote from this user from the private message that I received today and what prompted me to send this email:
"Yes, I'
m very serious.

The only applications I use while playing on
PokerStars are
Poker Tracker, the PokerAce Headsup Display, an AutoHotKey script called StarsPlanner that can be found on
www.overcards.com, and another AutoHotKey script called BetPot that can be found on the same website. As of today's date, all of these applications are allowed by
PokerStars.
The obvious issue here is that I'
m not using any sort of "bot" for my play, and I
don't want any sort of allegations of such to interrupt my
regular play. Like I said in the beginning of this email, this is an odd situation to be in, and maybe I'
m overreacting, but I thought it would be best to contact you before this "bot_hunter" has a chance to do any sort of damage to my reputation as an Internet poker player.
If you need anything from me, feel free to ask.
Many thanks,
Jesse

Hello Jesse,
Your Email has been escalated to me for additional review and comment.
Thank you for your patience in awaiting my reply.
Please rest assured that no player has the ability to "get someone thrown off
PokerStars". Nobody. That is because nobody but a
PokerStars bot hunter with access to our bot hunting tools has the information necessary to determine if a player is a bot or not.
There are some (like Mr. Gatorade aka Crazy Mike) that *think* they have such pull, or have a surefire method to
tell a bot from a human... but they're mistaken. Virtually all bot reports we receive from players are false alarms based upon fallacious and incorrect assumptions. The bots we
catch are caught proactively, usually long before they can be noticed and identified by the best human
observer.
I've examined your account as a result of this Email (and this review wasn't the first such examination you've undergone), and find nothing of concern. I would simply ignore this player and refuse to answer his Emails.... or
call his
bluff and
tell him to report you if he must. If he then reports you to us directly, it will likely come to my inbox and I'll be
able to identify this person and warn him that harassment or extortion of players he suspects to be bots is not acceptable.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Good luck in your games and thank you for playing on
PokerStars.
Best Regards,
Jeff
