what to do with AQo against a slow player and possible set

BB is a 24/10 over 1,341 hands. I've played many hands with him and he is known to slow play sets by only calling behind. I'm OOP and want to shove here so bad. Would like some insight on how I played it as is and what I could have done better. Thanks guys.

ps. for insight, I had KK a few hands back and this player called my flop raise with PP 2's and flopped a set and did nothing but call down small bets until the river where he threw out a PSB
and i realize this wouldn't be a set but trips

The play in this hand looks fine, and I'm just gonna throw an idea out there. If he is always slowplaying a hand that beats yours, would he bet the turn if you had checked? Would he semi-bluff a FD on the turn after sensing weakness or check to try to hit his flush? Checking the turn for information costs you value for when he is drawing, so I think the bet on the flop has to be bigger (assuming he's going to draw less on paired boards). I don't really like betting more on the flop though because it's 4 handed. Meh, Idk. I can't come up with a good plan for this hand. The way you played it seems fine, but dissapointing.

postflop reads on the fish that you've played 1.3k hands against plz (other than once upon a time he didn't raise a set)!!!!!

raise larger preflop. in fact, it just so happens that if you raised to ~.70 preflop, you'd be able to get stacks in in two streets which would be quite tits on this board.

as for the river, this is a really simple case of putting him on a range and deciding if we have <50% equity against his calling range, not about asking "could he really have trips here?!"

good points surviva.... as far as reads postflop he's not really a fish, he's pretty standard and usually calls with premium hands but can been seen showing up with SC in multiway pots and what not. I think raising preflop was where the whole thing went wrong for me. note taken

I like the way you played this hand, just the right balance between getting value and pot control. By the time your second largish turn bet gets called you have to think there is a significant chance that you are beat. There just aren't many worse hands left that can call.

By the time I get to ther river I'm confused. There just aren't that many hands that make sense. When I don't know where I"m at in the hand I often like to check with the thought of calling a reasonable bet.



I don't want to make a big bet on the river with the narrow hope that he has KQ or TT. You got good value on the flop and turn if he does. Time to check.

^ this last part is exactly where i found myself. not wanting to bet out and be faced with a shove and like wtf. i almosted wanted to shove myself but felt like his calling range to my shove would have me crushed.

He did have KQ by the way, yuck.... he just knew me well enough to know I did not have a 9 I suppose But not sure what he thought he could beat that I was betting with.

Anyone think that squeezing here is better than flat calling if SB can fold to 3 bets, since our position isn't great?

Try to put him on a range on the river using pokerstove.

How would we play 109s here?

probably the same way, except i would have shoved river fosho..

looking back i realize squeezing was the best option, i guess i'm just such a nit OOP it's scary.
many leaks to plug, i know, but the main thing I was looking for here was the river play. My thought at the exact moment was "if I bet I can't see worse calling, but I can see better shoving/betting and putting me in a weird spot" Was this a horrible thing to think?
