    Default What to do?

Heres the scenario...heads up, both players check to see a flop.

    Player 1 has 4 5, flop is a 5 k.
Player 2, at this point unknown however it is known that he does not have a k or a as he raises with these preflop.

What ended up happening was i was throwing out raises hard to the river, and he called with j 6 and hit a 6 on the river. His explanation was that he had overs and that he could try to bluff on the river.

To me, in my head, imediately i thought fish. Who the hell calls this much with nothing but 6 outs to the river then justifies it by saying he knew i had a weak hand (the weak hand i had was beating him).

Now my question is...If you have someone like this, do you push it all in when u hit that pair? Or what is even to say that he wont call with overs which i personally think is retarted and fishy (hate people who cant lay down big hands when they know their beat)...?

I think maybe you didnt raise enough. Any decent player would know to lay down the hand if he's drawing dead and only the river to save him, especially with King on board. I think in this case I woulda folded because I would think he has the King or pockets higher then 4, 5 and might slow play them. And what was the 4th street card?

    4th street was like a 2.

I had a good read that he didnt have ace or K.

Whatever the scenario might be, take the general gist of it. You are winning the hand but he is calling with a high card hoping to hit.

Is the best strategy to go all in, or just bet strong the whole way

Do you want to risk your stack to win a tiny pot? What if you mis-read? Just because they hit one 6-outer doesn't mean they always will. If they'll call you down with J6 on an AKx board, just value bet any pair until you meet resistance.

Is he just saying this? Or does he bluff a lot? Heck, if he loves to bluff, you can always show some weakness and let him bluff off all his money, check raise him, etc...just make sure you don't mis-read

BTW I am assuming this is a cash game (since it is not posted in the tourney form).
