Default Understanding No limit Hold em

Hey guys, ive been putting in a lot of time over the past week thinking of ways to improve my game. Ive been playing NLHE for almost 3 years now and I have realized something that I think has been holding me back from taking my game further... Ive discovered that all this time, all I have been doing is following certain strategies and advice that Ive picked up over the years. "Play these hands in these positons. "Raise to isolate limpers." "Dont call down with marginal hands." So on and so forth. While this is all fine and good, I still do lack a GENIUINE UNDERSTANDING of how the game works. Even the books I have read have not given me the complete understanding of the game that I want. They are more or less just giving more advice or tips on how to play certain situations. Is there anything out there that will help me understand the aspects of the game beyond just following "Proper Strategy"? Can anyone recommend any books or articles?? Anything would be appreciated

Think poker. Work out why people suggest certain plays rather than just accepting them.

sounds like you know what to do in a lot of situations.studying on why you should do what you need to do instead of just taking it all for granted will help you a lot.if you play like a computer people will figure you out better than you can figure yourself out.the ftr community can cover about anything

before geniuine understanding, i will try to understand it. For every game, there is always limited number of people who have geniuine understanding of the game. you need to be talented, hard-working, and lucky.
