The Two pair

Hi guys, first post so here goes.
Ive been playing 6 months and im starting to learn my math and i wanted ur guys view on this hand.
Its last 25 of a freerole tourny, not a lot i know!
im about tenth with 39K chips

Ive not had a hand for a while and im on the small blind with a slighty bigger stack on the big blind. Its just me and him.
Hes just won a bigish hand luckily with 66 vs AA with a set and i guess he wont wanna play too much of a pot.
Ive got K7 suited so i raise 4xbig blind trying to steal the blinds. He calls. damn!

Flop is K hearts with 7 2 diamonds. Yes two pair.
I follow with another bet 4xbig blinds and get raised to where im all in.
Having just won a big hand i dont reckon this guy for KK and the set as his previous play suggests he woulda been all in pre flop (hed done it earlier with JJ) I could be up against a differnt set in which case im in trouble or two pair which i shud dominate with the best two pair on offer.
The flush draw is on but would he really risk most of his stack on the draw straight after a big hand? Surely hed wanna keep the chips hed just won.
I couldnt do the math quick enough so i called and went all in. Sure enough my two pair is winning but im against the flush draw and he finds it on the river.
Im doing the math now to figure it out, but with ur guys experience was this a bad call to make. I tried to figure out the pyschology variables and stuff and while i originally bluffed i hit a good hand.
Im not mad or anything just wanted some opinions as im new

No, I think attempting a steal w/ K7o is not bad. There's always a bit of risk involved, but u are a favourite over any random hand he is dealt.

After you hit top two pair, you are the big favourite. You got your read right and essentially he gambled all his stack on a 7:3 shot. If u are not willing to get your money in when u are a 70% favourite, when are u?

This is one of those boom-or-bust situations. If u win (which u were favourite to do) u are in great shape to place big. If u lose, well, "nh. gg".

You can't back away here, you should play to win, not to limp into the money. MTT's, even freerolls, are very top heavy in the payout structure. I would rather go for broke here as big favourite and try and win big, than fold and essentially limp up a few places of the money for an extra $5 or something.

One alternative could have been for you to raise him AI on the flop and make him make the tough decision.

The call was fine, but your post flop raise was a bit weak.
He had to call 4 BB to a 12 BB Pot, thats a decent call on a draw. If you dont go AI on the flop at least bet the pot.

Two things you need to watch out for:

You can get dealt any hand at any time. I am often taken aback by getting dealt 4, 5 or even more good starting hands on the bounce.

Of course he would, but if he's playing good poker (which he isn't, on this hand at least, but that's beside the point), whether he won last hand or 40 hands ago is irrelevant. In fact, in this situation, his big win could either have given him greater (false?) confidence, or made him feel like he could afford to lose more - both irrational but understandable reactions.

TLR has pointed out your biggest ault on this hand - it's an easy one to learn and rectify.
