    Default Tough Time Moving Up

    Hi everyone.

I've just moved up to nl400 on P a r ty. I've found the game to be way harder than nl200.

One hand in particular from my 1st session stands out. I don't see this play typically at nl200 so I'm wondering what I could have done differently... Both opponents seem like very good players, capable of laying down big hands and pushing air with a read :

    $400 NL Texas Hold'em - Wednesday, October 04, 01:45:53 ET 2006

Table Table 106323 (No DP) (Real Money)

    Seat 4 is the button

Total number of players : 6

    Seat 1: teh_dragon ( $500.60 )
    Seat 2: DuninPoker ( $406 )
    Seat 3: MikePennSt ( $1181.06 )
    Seat 6: unit473 ( $397 )
    Seat 4: HERO ( $723.40 )
    Seat 5: marshcrowpoi ( $234.20 )
    marshcrowpoi posts small blind [$2].
    unit473 posts big blind [$4].

    ** Dealing down cards **

Dealt to HERO [ Ah Ac ]
    teh_dragon folds.
    DuninPoker folds.
    MikePennSt raises [$8].
    HERO raises [$32].
    marshcrowpoi folds.
    unit473 raises [$82].
    MikePennSt raises [$392].
    HERO raises [$682].
    unit473 is all-In.
    MikePennSt calls [$314].

    ** Dealing Flop ** [ 9s, 2h, 6d ]

    MikePennSt bets [$19].
    HERO is all-In (9$ remaining).

    ** Dealing Turn ** [ 2s ]

    ** Dealing River ** [ 7h ]

MikePennSt shows [ As, Qs ] a pair of twos.
HERO shows [ Ah, Ac ] two pairs, aces and twos.
unit473 doesn't show [ Tc, Th ] two pairs, tens and twos.
MikePennSt wins $9.60 from side pot #2 with a pair of twos.
HERO wins $652.80 from side pot #1 with two pairs, aces and twos.
HERO wins $1190 from the main pot with two pairs, aces and twos.

Maybe I should have just pushed preflop? Many thanks for any advice.

If the 2h was an 8s they would have both had you beat. consider yourself lucky

Gonna be honest, I don't think I get what you are asking. Then again, I'm currently at .02 / .05 no limit, without a proper bankroll. Is there something I'm missing?

your being sarcastic right ? there's still plenty of fish in NL 400 , especially 6max

nice hand by the way ...

That one hand is like 10 times my whole bankroll!

Still can't see what you did wrong though... Ok, I might have pushed pre-flop, but the flop was nice to you and so not much risk of getting rinsed. I would still have been crapping my pants though

It's a joke you guys! A FUCKING JOKE!!! He's saying higher limit games can be laughably soft too, and he's just trying to bring it around in a humorous way.

Yeah I figured I was probably beat on the flop.

But wtf, I was priced in, ya know?
when the vpip's are high and the value bets are like razors, who can be safe?
