Top two deep on river with draw-ey board

I don't remember any reads on the villian. I really should have been thinking more about stack sizes on the flop/turn. I was pretty sure he had a queen so I wasn't too worried about the flush on the river. Thoughts?

Yeah, I really should have been thinking about what he'd call with that I beat. I'm just really torn because I put him pretty strongly on a weak queen (weaker than mine at least.) I probably was putting too much faith in my reads, but he did end up showing Q3o (LDO :P) which makes me tempted to do this again. I have a hard time seeing him do this on a come hand, but i guess there are sets he could have too. In the end I felt like he'd bet with any two checked to and tried to get some fold equity.

But... this hand bugs the hell out of me.

Tough river because worse hands will often find a fold.

Check the river, then think about his bet size and how stabby he is.

I dont' know.... I mean... if we assume that villain is dumb enough to have hands that beat us(and play them like this)
Flush Draw of K and J-(weird hand to call pre with, and bad draw to call turn with)
Any sets(IE who that is good doesn't raise somewhere in those two streets with a set?

then we have to assume that villain is holding possibly ALOT of hands that we beat: KK AK KQ QJ 45 JJ A5 A4 A2 (all of which and more call the river 1/3 or so bet)

I don't know what I do alot of the time. I think I throw out a bet on the river. I don't bet pot by any means, but I bet. and I think some hands that have us beat here. possibly a set, or a weak flush(not always, but enough of the time to make it profitable) call.

Just so we're clear, I'm not suggesting that c/f is BAD by any means. Or c/c up to certain sized bets. I'm trying to consider most EV here though.

I dont see how this size is ever practical OOP unless your opponent opens like 50% in LP and folds to 3bets a ton, even then, I'd probably flat AQ here if that was the case.

Thanks for the replies. I need to work on my 3bet sizing and placement. This isn't really the place and that's now how I should do it anyways.

I can see now how I pushed out any value from hands that don't beat me and put my stack up for grabs. I wish I remember why I put him so hard on a pair, because if that was a good read I could see a b/f on the river, but I don't even remember and without that I'd need to check, see what he does, and (in this case) grumble and fold.

I think this is one of the biggest leaks I need to work on right now, betting when I only get calls from better hands. That and trying to buy pots in general. :P

(PS: Wow, I'm always amazed how much clearer things become when I post hands.)
