Default Top $100NL Full Ring Players on Stars

Who are the regulars that you try to avoid?

It is alright to play in a table with some top players. I don't think there's such thing as a superstar or top player at NL100, this is a low NLHE and why would a superstar or top NL player bother with such a low limit. Just make sure that the table you join there are at least a few targets, that is, players who are worse then you, so that you can also win their money. Don't bother to go against players who are better than you.

on a site with 80k players it ould be difficult to run into a p layer who is going to wtfpwn you, especially at 100nl.

If you are pwned every time you play $100nl, then you are at the wrong stakes. With so many players at Stars, you will not likely play at the same table with more than two players you have seen before. As such, the chances that you will keep running into that same shark are low. In addition, it is rare that a shark will stay at $100nl for an extended period of time because there is a lot more $ to be made at the higher levels...so even if you do run into a shark, he will be going to deeper waters soon and you won't run into him again. Personally, I play FT and there are a few players who I have made notes on who I consider "solid" but I don't stay away from them by any means....

UB is my normally stomping grounds and I track about a half dozen regulars there because the 'group' is realatively small. If there are 6 tables going, myself and the other regulars might be taking up as many as 20 of the available seats.

Now compare this to PokerStars. I checked pokersitescout yesterday before playing. It showed 52 active players at 100NL for UB. For PS, it was over 950. Who are you going to pay attention to in that mass? If a refular played there all day, every day ... it's still unlikely you'd play more than 5% of all of you hands with them even sitting at your table. I doubt it's worth any effort to note them.

I humbly disagree with pretty much all of the above posts.

After looking at my 100NL Ring stats just accumulated in the past week or so.. after 10k hands, 168 of the 2,235 players I have in my PT database I have 100 or more hands played with. A hundred hands is a decent indicator of someone's VPIP/PFR, perhaps not enough for an aggression stat, or % folds to certain street bets, but for the basics, I think so. In addition, if you play at a specific time of day, you will notice yourself playing against many of the same players.

I have noticed many of the same faces at my tables again and again, and there are some which I do indeed try to avoid, because I would rather play someone I do not know or don't have history with than someone who probably has stats, history and notes on me.

If you are playing a lot of hands, you are going to notice a lot of the same faces, and it is definitely important to know who to avoid, who is a nutcamping rock, who never raises, and so forth. It is definitely worth the effort to note players.

While I don't want to point any fingers to answer OP's original question, if he or anyone wants to trade PMs about players and stats please let me know.
Save your stories 'cuz they're all the same..
