Read lots of stickies. Read the bankroll management thread. Read some of the guides some of the veteran posters have made up for both cash games and tournaments. Post hands and we will tell you whether you are a good player or not.

If you don't have a lot of money to deposit, bankroll management is VERY important. Once you have a bankroll of even a couple hundred dollars, you just play at stakes that are within your bankroll or else you will always lose your money. Definitely read rilla's post about that, it's stickied in this forum.
