I sent this out to my team at the office and figured I'd post it here as well. We all buy the same books and read the same articles. Most of us started out the same way too - grinding out a bankroll from a $50 deposit. You post hands and continue on but still wonder why it's taking so long to grind out a respectable roll to move on to mid-stakes.Hard work and discipline are what you need to succeed. This applies to everything. There really is no secret—or shortcut—that will get you around this. Get to it. Now.
So what separates the BC average joe from an FTR balla? Read the quote again. There is no secret, so stop looking for it. Stop moving up so players "respect your raises". Stop doing the same stupid things over and over again. Stop playing outside of your bankroll. Don't ever play tired or on tilt because you're training yourself to play under bad conditions. Stop telling yourself that one day it will all come together. Poker, especially NLHE, is a never-ending learning process. But you CAN succeed. And you WILL succeed IF you just APPLY YOURSELF. That is all.
