    Default Talking during games

    Survey question:

How much polite talking or trash talking do you do when playing. It seems like when I get into chit chat with other players I end up getting knocked out as opposed to when I just shut up and play and trash talking i dont do too much

I rarely say anything. If I do, it's usually just "nh" or "ty."

Occasionally, I'll throw out some probing questions when I am taking notes on a player (fish/shark) to see if he'll divulge any additional info about how he plays. It's surprising how much some people will tell you.

I play 2 different types of poker. I play for real. I never talk, I get serious and read players and absorb everything I can.

I play for fun. WHen a friend is in a room with me, or we are playing FTR showdown, or something. I will chat and gab and just have fun. Poker is almost secondary.
I don't know what they have to say
    It makes no difference anyway.
    Whatever it is...
    I'm against it.

I talk it up as much as I can, basically out of boredom. Sometimes about poker, or sometimes I say crazy stuff to see if I can get a rise out of anyone. Sometimes I make a few friends or enemies, sometimes people just ignore me.

If somebody starts talking about poker theory or what poker books he has read, I make a note to watch out for him.

I also talk, if others are talking about anything interesting that is.

If its completely dead, I may only comment on a crazy hand or congratulate someone if they hit a monster or make a great play (hide a monster well or make a big bluff and show it).
