When you consider the magnitude of a loss, you're best served to consider it in the context of how much you've played and how much money you've put into play.

For instance, let's say you've played 10 sessions all 1 table vs the same 10 sessions 6-tabling. In the first case, you put 10 buyins into play and lost 8. In the second, it's 50 and 8. The former is clearly a worse downswing although the amounts are the same.

That said, do take a break if it'll let you get back on an even keel. But you might want to consider that it's kind of a bandaid solution. It's better - although harder - to learn how to steam less often and/or severely.

It's unfortunate to have a bad day at the tables but at the same time it does happen. Can't have a good day every day even thou it would be nice.Follow your gut and if a break is what is needed then do so.Shit happens and you have to go with the flow.Put your life on track and go with the punches, don't think it will get any better any time soon.
