    Default Stacking people

    Hi,

I was just wondering if any of you have any tips on stacking people. I seem to make my money mainly by just winning small/medium pots and do find that I get stacked more often than I do it to others.

Is it all about just waiting till your opponent has a pretty good hand and hoping he thinks he's ahead or are there any tricks that can help stack an opponent?

    Thanks

it´s not about "stacking" people, it´s all about maximizing your winnings when your ahead. if your making money by taking down lots of small to medium pots and losing the big ones, there might be something wrong with your game.

first of all you need to identify your opponents, who are willing to play for stacks with 2nd best hands. if your shoving against rocks who push nothing but the nuts, only b/c you want to win a stack you´re losing money in the long run.

to win a whole stack takes patience, since you´ll have to show down and stacking off w/ TPTK is -ev.

there aren´t any "tricks" to stack ppl, tho it might help to build a pot right from the start, which means significants prf raises and a wider than table-average 3betting range. at micros ppl do raise any crap, so 3bet AJs+, AQo+, TT+ (maybe 99) for value. bet your draws for value and dont get married, when u miss.

on turn the pot should be large enough to get all your chips in the middle, if the pot/effective stack ratio is somewhere between 1 and 2 u might bet about 1/2 to 2/3 the pot to leave villian commited when he calls.
