Umm...since when would the casino not rake a split pot? If the pot is under the min rake, they wouldn't rake it, but otherwise, I'm pretty sure they would. I expect this would be regarded the same in the blinds situation you mention - if it's enough to be raked, they don't want it escaping without that happening, so they'd leave you with the post-rake blinds to split. Why you'd do this rather than just take the free small blind, I don't know.

Am I missing something, or just not understanding?
