    Dear Kevin,

    Thank you for contacting us.

We request you to write to us from the registered email address for future correspondence. This is a security measure we take to safeguard the account specific information of our players. You can see the registered email address by selecting the Cashier button on the bottom of the lobby. (Just as a note, I did e-mail them from my registered e-mail address, but whatever.)

We appreciate you taking the time to report situations of alleged disconnect protection abuse at PartyPoker.com.

Starting with the hand(s) that you sent to us, we performed an investigation that would allow us to examine thoroughly the account in question; *trattfjant*

We have looked into the players records and collected all previous hands in which this player used the protection. Our goal was to look for a pattern where the player usually disconnects in key moments.

Some of the parameters we use when investigating possible protection abuse:

ý The player*s cards at the time of disconnection.
ý The player*s previous action (whether he was betting/raising) and also the actions of the other players at the time of disconnection.
ý The benefit obtained by a player disconnecting
    ý The timing of disconnection
ý A players pattern of disconnections
ý Previous allegations made by other players and/or the system

Using the information listed above we have investigated the history of the player thoroughly and have found that not only was the hand you reported suspicious but this player has shown a pattern of suspicious disconnects in the past. Based on this information we have taken away the disconnect protection privilege for this player. In the event he is disconnected in the future his hand will be folded. We have sent an email to the player informing him of the investigation.

We thank you for taking the time to report your suspicions. Keeping the games honest is our highest priority.

Contact us anytime, we are available around the clock to assist you with your account related questions and suggestions.

Awesome outcome. Now he can play like he's on Prima.

I have mixed feelings about them telling you the outcome. Telling you what they are doing is great, of course, but I'm torn between the satisfaction of knowing he can't do it more later and publicizing the action taken against a member.

But that is pretty bad... There is certainly a huge advantage to being able to get "all-in" protection when someone puts a very large bet in front of you. Why fold at that point when you can force the system to let you play for the money you've already put in? Bah, what crap. I understand the need for it, people do get disconnected, but it sucks that people lose real money when others can use it to cheat.

I do find it interesting that they don't ban the person. Certainly they see more profit in letting the cheater continue to play but just take away his ability to cheat. It makes sense, of course. I just find it interesting.

I think it is fair that you learn the outcome, as I think nobody would report if you didn't find out the result. And, I guess maybe its questionable whether or not I should post his name on here, but he can always buy my silence for 63.50

Why did you play the hand so hard, Greedo? (a side question I know, but I'd have folded pre-flop unless I had very specific reads)

I have another side question. Are you sitting down at these tables with your entire bankroll? I'm taking it so damn slow because I don't want to lose everything I have on one bad run. I started with my $25 deposit and have been playing the penny NL stakes for the last 4 days and had almost doubled it, but today I had my first real run of bad cards and lost a few bucks rather than won it.

Have you hit any bad streaks where you lose a lot? Or are you still steadily making your bankroll grow?

    Off topic, but whatever...

EVERYONE has bad streaks. You should get used to them, because they are part of being a profitable poker player.

don't play a hand like that. the preflop call was easy, i should've just folded the flop. sometimes when i get bored i try to pull shit like this, and it really doesn't work that much but in the end it comes out only a little -EV and its worth the entertainment value to me. This time, I just felt like trying to bluff someone and figured this is the guy. After he checked to me on the river I figured, well here goes. I thought he could've had ak up to there and would've folded it to my river bet, and even aa would be nervous, especially with the board pair that i raised on and his wimpy turn bet.
