If you are a good hand reader and you can't really put villain on a hand/range, it's probably because his range is wide. in holdem, most hands cant withstand bigtime pressure. So that's what you need to apply when their range is wide.

if you are a good hand reader and you can put villain on a very narrow range, perhaps even one exact hand, that's probably what he has. you should act accordingly even if that means making a 'big fold' which people genuinely feel is bad in shorthanded aggro games, and that probably has something to do with the fact that a lot of people are so nitty that they dont WANT you to be making those folds because they always have... uhh... i dunno.

    thats all

Wow. Excellent post Lukie. It really makes you think.

Actually, I'm sorry man for leading you on like this. The real reason I came into this thread for a second time is because I'm in the mood for breaking your record run for producing a thread with the worst post:view ratio.

Alright I'm going to argue against this.

It's very hard to widen your range playing passively. I.E. you're not going to check call air, you may bet or raise it but you're not going to play it passively for obvious reasons. Therefore, most of the time we are faced with a wide range we are either being bet into or raised. Sometimes these ranges are polar and therefore putting pressure on our opponent would be dumb.

I don't think your logic makes any sense, I think an interesting point would be if you can put opp on a wide range that includes many mediocore hands it can be best to raise or bet.

Please give an example of what you are talking about.
