    Default some random thoughts

as i was laying down to sleep, frustrated from taking another bad beat, probably one of the worst i feel ive ever taken, i lost 35 dollars on the hand in a cash game. I wont bore you with info on the hand nor swear i played it right cause i may not have. However, after the beat i was considering posting the hand and complaining about it and i realized that once a day someone posts something similar in the beginning forum and one of the pros always says the same thing, "just keep playing winning poker, dont consider moving up in stakes so they will respect your bets." and while i couldnt agree more, i always wondered why nobody has said "Look n00bs we still get sucked out on at the highest stakes possible," everyone seems so fine with getting sucked out its as if there came a point where you guys sucked out on so many people that you realized that luck evens out and that for every bad beat you take, youll give one too.

I think one of the best things for dealing with this is Harrington on holdem, i really really valued how in the practice problems he'd take you through it and youd obviously see why his opinion was correct, and most of the hands turned out to be losing hands. It hit home that its not important that you win the hand but that you made the right play.

One thing to think about is that if you're a good player you're gonna receive alot more bad beats than you give, simply because you're gonna get you cash in with the best of it more often.

But yeah, suckouts happen at all stakes. Nothing to do about that. That's what keeps the gamblers coming back.

i recently moved up quiet quickly from 10 to 25 to 50NL. i´m struggling to break even right now, b/c my bets and raises are more respected now and i have problems getting action on my premium holdings. maybe i´m paranoid, but atm i feel like i have to loosen up, to get that much action on my premiums i had at 10NL.

be happy with ppl calling you down with crappy holdings, getting sucked out isn´t nice but only collecting the blinds w/ AA isnt either.

If you focus on playeing well, the cash will follow. I never strive my sessions with a monitary objective. I have recently started playing shorter sessions then previously and taking the time to go threw tha main hands of that given session. I know feel happier going t bed knowing i played well and made 10$ going in with the best hands than making 199$ playing crap and lucking out on flops.

You have to ask yourself on a weekly basis, what have i learned and what have I bettered in my game; If you have no answers, your not moving forward

If you're a good player you:

You lose more money to suckouts than you win when you suck people out - but:

You win FAR more money when your good hands aren't sucked out on than you lose when they are.

Basically, you win far more by playing goot than you lose when people playing bad get lucky against you.
