Nor do I. Why would we consider folding this pre? We have clear set mining odds. Hand is played fine imo, nh.

We're getting nearly 14:1, do we need that much in position with jacks? He's short, so is almost always gonna find himself pot committed very quickly with overpairs, and his AK is oop and hates two in three flops. Never folding this pre in this spot, would probably fold to a squeeze though, depends on who squeezes I guess.

Preflop a call is fine IMO with loose calling types behind and 14-1 implied odds on short stack. You then proceed to get your whole stack in with a set and river a boat.

Is this a level?

The only question here is if 3bet/get it with JJ vs the short stack is better than having a possible 3/4/5 way pot with fish.

I think calling is better, nh daven.

no level, genuinely curious. I marked it for review during the session and thought about it a while. Mostly pre obviously, but all streets have thinking. Maybe i think too much. Sizing too?

Sizing is pretty much perfect, the river shove is the right size to get called by the vast majority of hands that called flop and turn.

unless i'm missing something, this hand seems incredibly standard

I think you can 3-bet pre and try to get it in here for 40 BBs, pro shortstackers don't play like 2/2 or something. Calling is OK too? Hand looks totally fine/standard?

I'd rather have 20:1 for set mining odds.
