    Default set on monotone board

Villain is 26/4 with afq of 32 with 40~ hands.

I flop a set. Passive-ish dude leads out. I put him on Jx trying to defend against the flush draw, TT+ and/or drawing himself. I still have outs if he has the made flush. Any arguments for throwing my set away here? If someone could do the math with stove to see if it's +EV it would be greatly appreciated (I do not have it installed on this machine atm).

    PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (6 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    MP ($27)
    Hero (CO) ($11.95)
    Button ($10)
    SB ($10)
    BB ($25.05)
    UTG ($10.30)

Preflop: Hero is CO with 7, 7
2 folds, Hero bets $0.40, Button calls $0.40, SB calls $0.35, 1 fold

    Flop: ($1.30) J, 4, 7 (3 players)
SB bets $1, Hero raises to $3.50, 1 fold, SB raises to $9.60 (All-In) Hero ???

    Thanks guys.

you have 30% against flushes, like 4% against JJ, 96% against 44, and 62% against JcAh (those were all estimates, i'll check them soon). the pot is 14.40 and you have to call 9.6-3.5 = 6.1

so you are getting something like 2.3:1

which translates to needing roughly 29% equity seeing as all the money's in. i may be wrong, but if all that is correct then you have to call even if you knew for a fact that he had AhKh. i'll do the work in stove now and see how wrong i was.

ok you have 34% v flushes.
7% vs JJ (and obv. 93% vv 44)
    and 70% vs AhJx.

so i was out to differing degrees on all of them.

this is your equity vs all sets, all top pair/NFDs and an absolute shitload of suited hearts.

Meh, I wish you would install it yourself and use this hand as a practice example to learn to use it. You might as well install it now because it is absolutely necessary to move on in your poker career. Look, I'll even make it easy and provide you the link.

Now go download it and use this hand as an example. Input everything in the necessary fields. Then calculate your pot odds. If you have greater pot odds than the equity needed, it's a call.

And please, don't start threads so that others can do the work for you. It looks foolish on your part and others will take you less seriously when you create threads like this. I'd usually be one that would be pissed off...but it's a beautiful day out so I'm in a good mood.

If you have any questions about PokerStove, please ask it here as to not create an entirely new thread on PokerStove. Here's a sick article about Pokerstove courtesy of GrinderSchool: click me. Anywho, I hope this helped. I'm hoping to be a more regular part of the BC now instead of simply trolling. Kthx bye.
That's how winners play; we convince the other guy he's making all the right moves.
