Default rakeback for the grinders... P-stars vs FT

I play 25nl and will soon be moving up to 50nl, play 500 hands/hour and I play at Pokerstars.

I am looking at my "rakeback" at P-stars, and think it is definitely not what I could be getting if I switched to FT. Am I right to think that even at the 25NL that you can get 27% rakeback at FT?

I only ask b/c right now I am pretty sure I am only getting about 8-10% equivalent through P-stars through their "cash bonus program"
    (I am a Silverstar)

Over my last ~30,000 hands I have paid about $600 in rake, and accumulated 3162 VPP's (4743 FPP's), which is about equivalent to $50 in rakeback.

If I am right then at FT my rakeback would have amounted to $162.

Am I missing something? Are there any huge drawbacks to switching to FT? I know that they deduct their points or whatever from your account but that is essentially what P-stars does too...

yeah, unless you're a supernova, Pokerstars rakeback sucks. you could prolly clear FTP's 600 dollar deposit bonus at 25nl, so switching wouldn't be the worst idea ever. be sure to get a referral if you're going to start rakeback (a lot of people on here can give you a referral to raketherake)

Note that unless I'm mistaken FTP takes higher rake at the mentioned stakes than PokerStars does.

I have been researching jus this topic for myself. There are threads over on 2+2 and nobody is putting together a great comparison really for cash games. Near as I can gather, until you can get to above $50NL and make supernova on stars, FT is better. I am in the process of trying to find someone to do a thread detailing the Full Tilt Bonus and RB structure like Spoon did for the Stars FPP system. Unfortunately I have not found anyone that knows the details in and out as well and is willing to take some time to do a detailed post about it.

Sorry not sure what this means... I thought I could just sign up through raketherake?

    It's pretty simple.
    the summary.
27% rakeback is the standard, you'll get this everywhere on FTP.
    so, what extras are there?
    depends on your grind style.
    the extras include:
    1) rake races. Forget about it unless you rake $5k a month if you're there via RTR
    2) iron man medal bonuses. You receive medals as part of the iron man promotion. Various ways to receive these (earn > x points in a day, achieve a particular iron man status, etc. The longer you're in the iron man promotion the greater your earn rate for these). Bonuses available for purchase are $100, $300, $600.
    3) iron man freerolls. Overlay varies depending on your ironman level.
    4) FT player points. These can be used to purchase items in the store, they're worth about $3-$3.50/thousand points. A thousand points means $1k taken in rake from your tables, so 6-max and that's $160 of rake from you, and 9-max it's $110
    5) iron man half-year and end year bonuses.

If you're patient this will turn up in a simple looking table split by stakes to give equivalent rakeback vs stakes and volume + longevity at the site.

Does the stars one need an update vs proposed changes in vpp earn on stars in 2010?

It means, make sure someone is considered your referrer. Raketherake pays an extra 4% to the person that links you or that you claim referred you. You lose nothing and someone gains 4% from RTR. It takes money form the rakeback provider and gives it to the player pool by allowing someone to earn 4% on top of your regular RB.

Wow really? I had no clue. So they earn 4% of the rake I pay? Every month? Can someone do this multiple times so they are earning multiple 4% bonuses through rakeback?

I'll throw in my .02 as someone who went from PS to FT over the summer and actually did it at 25nl fr as well (although I apologize I don't have specific #s to share).

The bonuses are way better at Ft. I believe it's a bit easier to earn them and the signup bonus is a big gimmie esp for someone like you playing uber hands/hr at a solid level. And sometimes they just throw them at you and say 'here is 100 bucks' as they did in Dec. Seriously all I had to do was click OK to accept the bonus. Nothing else. As mentioned above there are a bunch of neat little sidebars such as iron man as well. I would also say that at 25nl at least ft is a bit softer. Nothing dramatic but imo it's noticeable.

I don't know the #s on rakeback as I wasn't smart enough to do that back then. But the ps rake program is a bitch and I'm writing this on my phone so I have to stop here but i would. be happy to answer any questions u have.
