Raise ATC with one limper???
Just wondering what people think of the following concept:
You're on the button, tight player in early position limps and it's folded to you.
Should you raise ATC in this instance? With the goal of taking the pot on the flop with a cbet.
The theory being the majority of people limping from early position are playing a small pp and looking for a set. So approx 85% of the time they miss and you take it (85% being no set & no obv. draws).
And if this is a good idea, you could prob do this from any position from cutoff to Bigblind, depending on the player types left to act.
Obviously you can't make such huge generallisations and other circumstances will need to be taken into account, but in general what do you think?
