    Default "running good"

What is your definition of running good? I'm going to give you some scenarios and you tell me if you consider it running good.

    1. You go all-in pf with JJ vs AK and it holds up.

    2. You have 66, villain has A2 clubs. Flop is A67 two clubs. You get all-in on the flop and your set holds up.

    3. You go all-in pf with AK vs QQ and catch an ace or king.

    4. You get aces 8 times in a row. (joke)[/quote]

Running good is a sustained period of winning above statistical likelihood.

It may be 3 AA>KKs in one session, it may be a AA>KK and a KK>AA for you.

It's not one individual hand cause you could easily have QQ>KK (good) then three set over sets (bad) in the period of 500 hands.

    Basically, what iopq said.

if you did all these things all the time, you'd be running good.

    1) JJ is 56.1% PF against AK, so I expect it to hold up and be +EV over time.

    2) This isn't running good, it's expected +EV. Your set is 70.2% on the flop.

    3) Now you're on the bad side of the coin flip, as you are only 44% against QQ. If this holds up repeatedly, you've got positive variance, which would contribute to running good.

Anyway, what others said. Look at your win rate, and if it's abnormally high over a decent period of time, you're running good.

    Cheers

Download poker stove and look at the odds in the situations you state.

To me, running good is any combination of
    1) running above EV, &
    2) Being on the right end of those long-term breakeven cooler situations for a while (set over set, AA>KK, flush>flush, quads>Full house)

hence, I'm running super bad this week (+1.2ptBB/100)
