Default Quick question -- poker HUD?

Hello everyone, i jsut recently got my hands on PokerTracker and im really loving it, fixed a couple leaks already. Im currently running 4 tables of 25NL and i was wondering if it was worth getting a HUD. that word keeps getting thrown around, and i duno what it means. or what it does. just sounds like its something that would be good. :P. help me.

GameTime+ is liek PokerACE but its free. All it does is displays the VPIP/PFR/Post Flop Agg. right under the player's name on the table. Both are good, but I like GT+ cause, well, it's free.
My sig is too much for you to handle.

I think HUDs are pretty much like penises.

Sure they're fun to play with, some people can't imageine life without one and in this day and age anyone who wants one can get one installed.

But for some people they're merely decoration and don't seem to do anything.

Hmm.. this analogy is in danger of spinning out of control.

From my experience at FR the clutter you get from a HUD multi-tabling is more nuisance than benefit (certainly on the laptop). It takes so long to gather data on people at the lower levels it's just of little benefit.

On the other hand I installed GT+ recently when I started playing 6-max and with people in more hands and stats building up faster I actually found that a help even at the lowest stakes.

    So I'd recommend GT+, especially if you're playing short-handed.

I'm on the verge of getting PokerAce. I'm just trying to decide if it's actually something I want yet.
    Blah blah Op Blah blah

Faith in Jesus Christ is +EV. That is all.

I dont know how much I agree with your analogy. The more you know how to use a HUD, the worse it is for your opponents. And having a HUD but not knowing how to use it is almost worse than not having one at all.

They are incredibly helpful tools to have and really should be utilized by any serious player. Can you win without one? Yes, but if you know what you are doing with it you will win more using one.

And go with PAHUD, its miles ahead of GT+

4-tabling $25NL? Definitely get GT+, and probably PokerAce HUD if you feel you've got a free $25 (I've never used it myself, but everyone raves about it).

Just knowing VP$IP of the players acting after you to help in decisions about preflop actions is worth it for me.

It did take a little while to get used to using it though, and that little while was a downswing due to inexperienced HUD usage.

I used GT+ for ages and It was well worth the freeness that it cost me.

Recently ive forked out the $25 for PA (less than a buying) and im pretty sure its paid off already.

As long as you make sure you keep taking notes and paying attention and dont let yourself think the HUD is doing all of the work for you then it can only be +EV when the cost of a HUD is a buyin or less.

IMO even just showing the hole cards (with PA) is worth the $25 since I watch them every hand and take notes but i probably wouldnt bother to look them up in the hand history for every single hand.
gabe: Ive dropped almost 100k in the past 35 days.

bigspenda73: But how much did you win?
