    Default Question for c-betting.

When playing a full ring game, and u call a 4bet raise with AK,and ur first to act on the flop,do u c-bet on a flop with rags,or not?Does this depend on the image of the other players? And what if they are tight or loose?
I know when holding high pocket pairs its obvious to c-bet,but i dont know with cards like AK...

Not sure what you mean. Do you mean if someone has bet and you just called? If that is the case then it isnt really worth betting into them unless you have a weak/tight read. In that case you could very occasionally rep a set and see what happens.

CBetting is for when you are the preflop aggressor. In this case whether or not I cbet depends on how predictable/weak/fishy my opponents are. Dont cbet calling stations.
gabe: Ive dropped almost 100k in the past 35 days.

Ok,so c-betting is only good when your the one making a raise preflop, and not the one calling a raise preflop?
And only c-bet when they are tight?

Pretty much. They have to believe you have a hand and the fact you have a hand has to make them want to fold. A continuation bet is just a more sophisticated bluff. You want them to fold, so dont do it against people who wont. The reason you generally cbet after you have raised is because a raise represents a big hand, and people like folding to big hands.

edit: Betting if you arent the raiser is not a cbet (since you havnt continued anything) it is just a straight out bluff.

I CBet in most situations. It'd be easier to tell you when I don't cbet.

    1) Multi-way pots (4 or more players to a flop)

    2) OOP with 2 or more players behind me

    3) Against an opponent who is loose or likes to try and catch AK cbetting with his small pair (you see a lof of these guys)

In most pots, (heads up or 3-way with position), I bet about 3/4 pot, which is also my overpair cbet on most boards. Sometimes I pot it, depends on board texture. If I pot it, it's more of an information thing.
