Question about calling raise with POCKET 10's

Ok here is what happened to me in a LIVE game last night. It was me and 3 opponents, and I was dealt 10 10 in early pos. I had about an average chip stack, enough to not be in too much trouble but not enough to play speculative hands. I wanted to see the flop as cheaply as possible knowing this could be a trap hand and I was pretty sure that if I raised I would get called by at least one player, and with 5 cards to come there was obviously a lot that could beat me, and it would basically be one big guessing game at that point. Blinds were at 200, and I called.

The player one person behind me raises another 200 PRE FLOP, so now I only need 200 more to call, and already have 200 in the pot, HOWEVER now I am in a risky situation. He has position on me. I have pocket 10's.

My question is this. Should I just fold this hand, or call the min. raise of 200 out of position? Keep in mind I only had about an average stack and should have not been taking risks. I am guessing this was a time to calculate POT ODDS. What would it take to make this a legit call? Or would this be more legit to fold?

1) How big is your "average" stack in relation to the blinds?

2) Chances are, you should have raised preflop.

3) I can not think of any situation in which it would be correct to fold here.

I had about 5-6 BB's.

Open - raise All in pre flop.

your too short stacked to play for pot odds of hitting a set, your so short just push ai pf.

if your playing for a set your 8-1 to hit.. so have to pay 8x the preflop raise for every one time you hit. Therefore as a rule of thumb, the bet you call must be noway more than 5-10% of yourself and the PFR'er's stack.

allin preflop when it's first on you and it's not close.

Yeah SnG forum, push preflop every time with TT, its a made hand it can win uninproved versus a lot of hands that call it. It beats mid pocket pairs, beats the AJ-K if they dont hit one of their 6 outs. If you hit JJ-AA so what the chances of it are usually small and thats out of your control.

You dont have enough to play effectively post flop so get all oyur chips in the middle before then.
