Pushing AA/KK preflop
A hand I played a little while ago on a PP NL 25 table made me think that maybe always going all-in with AA/KK preflop when someone has raised in front of you is often the optimum move, at least for Party.
In the hand, I had KK and $45, UTG limps with $25 in front of him, and MP raises to 3xbb with $45 in front of him. I was just about to end my session and didn't feel like losing a big pot, so I decide to push all in, since I most likely have the best hand. UTG calls with TT quickly, freaking me out (I thought he must have limped with AA), and MP thinks awhile and calls with QQ. Flop is K88 and I win $70.
I think that often when you make such a huge reraise in a relatively tiny pot, people put you on anything but AA or KK. I think what goes through a lot of player's minds is "he's either on a stone cold bluff or has a low to medium pocket pair" and you'll thus get a lot of calls from people looking to gamble with hands like 88-QQ and A-face card, all of which you are in a dominating position against.
